Is there an option to specify a custom period forward?
From date to date
I've never used forward, so I haven't done it. There's only one date. Technically it is not a problem to make it possible to set this date.

No, it is the custom start and end date. It's not in the terminal.

The library is a dumb automatic pushbutton of the regular Tester. Nothing more.
It is needed to take a huge chore off the researcher's shoulders. There is no need to do things with his hands anymore.
Well, if something becomes much easier to do, it starts to be done. And, as a consequence, it leads to better results and better outlook of the researcher.
ZY During the work some useful information is displayed in the chart comments
This thing is really cool !
I recommend the administration to include this functionality in the standard delivery!
Tester becomes a very powerful thresher when it is equipped with automation capabilities.
If developers include in MQL the standard functions of Tester management(set date/symbol/mode, run the best single run, save the report, etc.), it will become a hundred times stronger than all potential competitors. And it will turn from a serious toy into an unprecedented research tool, as it will become a real computational thresher.
But I doubt it will be done. If someone can help automate the highlighted, it would be great.
What's great about the in-house MT5 tester.
All three items are huge shifts, though not recognised by them. Certainly lacking in performance customisation.
The fourth major qualitative shift could be this one
This would open the door to many things, from exploring multiple characters (and their baskets) to easy creation of auto-optimisation TCs and better fitting detection criteria.
Awesome!!! I've been planning to write a helper to automate optimisation for a long time. But so far I haven't had time to study the technologies (Frames, etc.), all the time is spent on finishing the Expert Advisor. But this lib can already be used for a simple task - several optimisations on the same parameters.
This is how I would like to improve it. My typical optimisation scenario:
For OHLC, perform N genetic runs. Take the best result from each of them according to a custom criterion.
Perform slow optimisation on each group of parameters (each group has 2-3 interdependent parameters).
Repeat iteratively slow optimisations for each group until the optimum is reached (parameters stop floating).
Switch to real ticks, perform the same slow optimisations.
Switch to another symbol, repeat everything.
I.e. in this lib, minimal changes can be added to the selection of Genetic/Slow and OHLC/Real. And also activation/deactivation of cloud agents and local agents. For local agents it is more convenient to make not an activator for each agent, but to activate N first agents. Deactivating some of the local agents is required when optimising on real ticks over several years. I don't have files more than 3 agents on SSD.
Results control and parameter management are big changes, but with them the lib will be perfect. You will get a controlled optimisation.
That's how I'd like to improve it.
Some things are easy to do even now. There should be a set of simple features - button pressers.
From these features, everyone could already create their own scenarios.
Unfortunately, without outside help, many things will remain unrealised.
I haven't tracked down this topic - is it even possible to read results from the optimisation cache? Or will we still have to process frames...?
There is even a screenshot on this topic in the description.

If you mean how to view the results of optimisation, I was talking about reading the results from the cache.
But now, having searched the forum, I didn't find anything about this. It seems that frames are our way. Accordingly, we should redesign the Expert Advisor for optimisation. This is a complicated, new and undeveloped technology. For the future.
