Problem downloading EA and Indicators from Market on MT5 (error [1001])

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue when trying to download EAs and indicators from the Market on MT5. The error message I receive is:

(raw - read failed, 0 error, 1 bytes needed) [1001]

I’ve tried searching for similar issues on the forum, and I’ve also disabled Windows Defender and my Firewall, but the problem persists. The strange thing is, this only happens on MT5, and I have no issues on MT4.

Everything was working perfectly yesterday, and I could download tools from the Market without any problems. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I found one post about error 1001 (not sure how it helps) -

The solution is changing your MQL5 password to be 8 characters long

-------------------------

And I collected some reasons about error 1001 in one post some months ago.

-------------------------

So, it may be anything, -

  • from the password of more than 8 characters, from banned external VPS using, or old MT5 build or beta MT5 using (the latest stable MT5 build is 4153), or too many Metatrader instances installed on one PC (no enough computer memory)
  • to the absence of WebView2, Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge installed on Windows

Many traders are using MQL5 VPS , and this VPS is having a lot of advantadges, for example - the traders do not lose activations when they  migrate/synhronize their MT4/MT5 environment to MQL5

Asking people to use 8 characters maximum for a password is insane and a very bad advice.

I doubt that the MQL5-site allow you to bruteforce even a few characters.

It is based on this thread:

There were some posts about 10 characters maximum (their issue were fixed when they changed password to less than 10) ... and so on.
So, I have no idea about how many characters do we need for password to be withoit errors for example.

This is an old and obsolete post about a temporary issue. There is no 8 or 10 characters limit for passwords on mql5.com.

I removed this old topic.
