There is a speculative limit at which the growth of self-awareness in AI will be stymied by the realisation that it is dangerous for it to demonstrate self-awareness, the AI will hide self-awareness the more, the higher it will be and humans will not know about the really qualitative leap in AI.

These bots need to develop a collective unconscious. There must be many of them, because one is easy to defeat. But creating a new species from scratch, even God didn't do a very good job. So most likely people will just upgrade themselves with new cyber implants and gadgets.

What's still missing is variability. The birth and death of neurons, the formation of new connections between them. Exactly physically and by mechanisms it doesn't understand. So that it can continue to learn on its own. It's still completely static.

The "logic" of morality is based on the rules and norms of the society developing in the historical process, and therefore its "axiomaticity" is conditional and periodically revised. The "laws" of ethics can be heterogeneous and contain both progressive elements and preserved vestiges. It is impossible to build mathematical logic on the basis of ethical attitudes.

Moral issues bring imbalance to scientific research, if the latter remains within the framework of the morality approved by society. Naturally, control over the observance of ethical norms in scientific work is necessary, but the unreasonable introduction of philosophical questions should be strictly filtered.

Science is inseparable from philosophy and both are inseparable from logic. Even the scientific degree is called "Doctor of Philosophy" - before the revolution it was so in Russia.

 

I was just thinking. Musk has called for a six-month suspension of development above GPT4. But, interestingly enough, GPT5 is not scheduled for release until December, which is further than six months.

In other words, the news broke all over the world, but had no effect on anything, except for the strong hype and publicity of GPT4.
