Hi and welcome to the forum.
Of course you can use a robot to trade, but this will shift the risk element from your hands to the robot as well.
So it will be your personal decision and relates to the risk that you are willing to take.
If you are not sure, you can also start with a small amount and use reasonable position sizes just to see how it works and when you are more comfortably with the numbers, you can always scale it up.
In the meantime you can develop your personal skills and get familiar with trading independently.
Believe in yourself by learning, you can trade better. It happened to me.
You must find your method before you trade. When you had your method, you will trade comfortably.
I am new to Forex trading and is learning the basics at the moment but I am wondering if I could trade with a robot in the mean time until I feel comfortable to trade independently?
Find Metatrader broker (there are a lot of Metatrader brokers, use google to find), and open the account according to their condition on their websites.
Try with demo first.
