And which one ?
look... 5 black pieces ate the first pawns... + black bishop ate a piece - a non-white pawn... that makes 6 pieces...
That's true, no argument.
Then to get to the bishop or queen one has to make another 5 captures... but black has no pieces 10 - i.e. it does not work...
I wasn't counting up to the moment "turned into bishop / queen", but up to the moment b7. In total, there are 4 captures by a distant pawn. Plus 5 captures by other pawns. Plus one capture by the bishop. All in all 10.
I, stupid head, did not take into account that on the 8th horizon before the pawn capture there was another black piece, the seventh. I.e. Black ate no more than 9, and we already have at least 10. Now there is a contradiction.
Only two possibilities - either the pawn stood on b7 and has just become a queen (and therefore has not yet had time to eat the bishop on f8!!!), or the king has moved.

But why the queen could not move?
Why the queen could not eat the bishop, and then return, but not on b8, but on c8 ?
But why couldn't the queen walk?
Why couldn't the queen eat the bishop and then return, not to b8, but to c8 ?
The answer to taking a pawn on the pass is correct. NeColla and alsu - thank you very much.
The moderator was very strict and demanded to justify, why all variants with pawns transformation are not good.
So, is the chess problem over? I can also throw in a preference one - there, I feel, a steam locomotive on a mizzer may well be...

Alsou... what if not a pawn to move - but a rook to attack the pawns?
Well, eat the queens - you draw further... with black pawn forward :-)
After black's move with any pawn white goes b6, threatening to put the queen. Play with yourself, you'll see that Black has no options here.
