Also now, when the test mode is changed from real ticks to OHLC on M1 for example, it also starts loading history. From the same 47%. Why? This, preferably, should be fixed faster, as the other test modes have become as slow as the new one...

I.e. in those moments the tick history is not filled? Or there are no M1 bars? How to determine where it is completely present? I think optimizing on unfilled areas = wrong Expert Advisor settings.

Started the tick collector in the tester.

Emulated ticks are still coming from the broker's server.

The real ticks are coming so far, only from Metaquot's server.

This can be seen in the figure below (EURUSD for 2016-03-16 - all ticks for 1 minute 20:30).

In the upper part of the picture real collected ticks for my broker (red - BID and green - ASK line) and tester ticks (blue and yellow) on the same account (ticks emulated by old rules).

In the lower part of the picture really collected ticks for my brokerage company (red - BID and green - ASK lines) and ticks of the tester (blue and yellow) from Metakvot demo account. From it you can see that ticks in the tester are very well approximated to the real ones. For which Metakvot is a huge THANK YOU!!!

There is a slight discrepancy horizontally due to the fact that milliseconds cannot be precisely defined. The tick collector regards the first tick arriving in the current second as coming in 1 millisecond, in reality it could come in 500 or even 999 milliseconds, i.e. within a second there can be slight shifts of the curve to the left up to 999 milliseconds. 1 cell in the figure is 5 seconds. The yellow and blue lines can in some cases be shifted up to 1 second to the left 1/5th of a large horizontal cell. Average divergence = 1/10 of the size of the large cell.

Karputov Vladimir:

Netting accounts are (until yesterday) MetaTrader 5 - it was possible to have a position in one direction only - either BUY or SELL.

Hedged accounts are MetaTrader 4 - it is possible to have a position for a symbol in both directions - either BUY or SELL.

Now (as of yesterday) MetaTrader 4 can be retired, as it is no longer needed.

Where's this "hats off" coming from?

What do you work on?

I am using MT4 and I don't see the need and advantages of switching to MT5.

If the developers, as they promised, will make an API for R, I'll be happy.

Good luck

I am using the modern MetaTrader 5 terminal. Since the launch of MetaTrader 5.

The change you found is not that big and important. Try opening a demo account and see what's on offer.

You can now run hedge accounts in MT5 on a par with netting accounts. The platform has become hybrid and it no longer makes sense to stay on MT4.

Very cool! And so unexpected. You decided to do it after all. Thank you. ;)

What is most interesting is that still not all brokers have MT5. Four is still more common.

When is the new version of MT5 and where do I know what is expected?

Renat Fatkhullin, 2016.03.19 08:34

This is a preliminary beta version for testing within the forum.

It's too early to make any statements yet, we still need to work out the issue of easily bringing the historical symbol bases on brokers' servers to near-perfect form.

... Does it make sense to support MetaTrader 4 platform at all ?

P.S. That was the only and main stumbling block in the mass migration of users to MetaTrader 5. Now that reason has been eliminated.

A search from the MetaEditor for the word "netting" yields interesting results:

For example, I was using MT4 only because of the possibility to test by real ticks.

But now MT5 offers it in a basic set. You don't even need to collect ticks anymore! And due to multi-threading optimisation, it will be many times faster.

In my opinion, MT5 has all its advantages now. With time most of the programmers will migrate to MT5 themselves. MT4 will remain with those who do not want or cannot reprogram old EAs...
