MT5 Connection Issues

I installed MT4 and got connected with no issues.  I wanted to try MT5 so set up a Demo account at Avatrade and can not get connection, their customer service hasn't been able to help.  Does anyone know where I can look to trouble shoot such an issue?

You can create the other demo account with any broker (or the other demo with your broker).
Or go to their website and ask them about it by phone or any (because it is related to the broker).

Find Metatrader broker (there are a lot of Metatrader brokers, use google to find), and open the account according to their condition on their websites.

Try with demo first.

I uninstalled MT5, restarted my computer then installed a new copy of MT5 and it appears to be working.

I think it was the restarting that made the difference, yesterday I did the same thing without restarting my computer and it didn't work.
