Is there a profitable EA on mql or are they all scams? - page 5

Yeah cut and run merchants abound on here but nothing gets done about it , I would use the word complicit somewhere in a summarisation,If I wrote one ,but I won't . Aside from the scammers one EA won't get you there several decent one's might as no EA can adapt to different conditions ( don't believe any EA on here that says super A.I machine learning , Mt5 hasn't got the capabilities for  that ) . So knowing when to fire the right EA for different conditions would be a positive thing . I proposed every EA on here be for  rent at a low price then we'd see who's who and what's what but it won't happen cause a 20 percent slice of a scammers sale  is sweet .

no EA can adapt to different conditions

It's possible to build one which is adaptive as ATR volatility in its nature is adaptive. It doesn't need to be complicated to be adaptive to changing regimes. The most difficult thing is to avoid traps in the market. Trapped buyer and trapped seller is a common pattern I see in backtests I did with EAs from the market. Then other EAs don't hold a trade for more than 1 bar which is stupid as that's not really riding the trend.

What I see on the marketplace as well is apparent scam reviewers who copy and paste a fake review just to try and take someone down.

Victor's right that "super A.I. machine learning" is usually the tell, not the feature — a real edge has an economic reason you can say in one sentence, not a black box. And Conor's point on copy-paste fake reviews is exactly why the results page can't be trusted on its own. What actually survives scrutiny is boring: does every trade carry a hard stop, what's the deposit load at the worst moment, and does the backtest reproduce on real-tick data over a window the seller didn't optimize? If a vendor dodges those three, "scam" is the safe default. You don't have to trust anyone — the public numbers let you check yourself.

Hello,

Every One wants to make more and more money, some focus on small but consistent profits, while some focus on high return in couple of days,

what I do as a professions,

I try my best to keep safe my capital, and focus on small return of monthly 2% to 10% (depends on market situation).

now I'm making profits from my account, why I should not make more profit by selling the same service to others, as signal/product?

if I took a trade on my account and I make $100 with that trade, so what if 100 account are following me and each account make $100, so I'll receive 30% from all, means,  total I earn

$30 x 100 = $3000 + $100 = $3100,

so what is batter, ????? to earn alone or earn with community.

your other scenario, the system is not profitable , yes that can be possible, so we must do deeply research about our purchasing,

Thanks,

Luke Perrett:

Hello wondering if there is a profitable EA on the MQL market or have they all got a alternative motive.

I mean lets face it, if someone had a EA that was profitable, why would they sell it.

Very basic discussion but funny enough it may raise some concerns.

I have had many EA's from over a period of 5-6 years and if I go back in the account and click on them they are no longer available and nor is the author.

This can only mean 1 of 2 things.

1-They were profitable and the Author took them down and run off with there millions of $

2-They were not profitable and the Author is now nowhere to be seen.

Same questions can be raised for signals as well.

Keen to hear any thoughts of others.

Have a great day.

why do people look at EAs as magical tools,!!!  EAs are just tools, and if u dont understand the logic behind the tool it might be hard for u to make money with the tool

When someone buys an EA it should know before buying what trading method is automated. The buyer should do some research to see clear if the method is reliable, how it works etc. Nobody should buy an EA because is advertised to to have a high win rate, because high win rate guarantees nothing.  The smooth equity curve is also just a nice dream. Since professional traders are happy with 20-30% account increase after 1 year of trading then how can someone expect to trade an 1000 USD account and to reach 100k after one year? I outlined few things here because are the most chased by buyers. They are not realistic at all in trading. Since there is demand the offer appears but we end with numerous cases when after a limited period of success EA's and sellers disappear. Live signal also is not a guarantee because most of them have weeks and in the best cases months old. Also when there is a signal one or more deposits other than the initial deposit is a huge red flag. That's why it is crucial to understand trading method which is automated by the EA, does she has an edge and also risk small per trade! Trading is hard and you cannot grow an account quickly no matter what you do.

"bcoz" is not an English word. "U"  is not an Englich word. "adfter" is not an Enghosh word. "Indi" is also not. This is an international English forum; post in English on this part of the forums.

As a matter of fact, I used to run grid EAs on gold, and they all eventually blew up because they shared the same fundamental flaw: fixed grid spacing. Some EAs use ATR-based spacing, but the multiplier is usually far too small and based on lower timeframes.

I got tired of that, so I built my own EA. It uses H4 ATR-based grid spacing and offers three different entry strategies. As far as my testing goes, it's the only grid EA for gold that has survived continuously from 2018 to today.

While many other EAs blew up during the July volatility, mine didn't even exceed a 10% drawdown on the high-risk setting while still delivering excellent profits.

I won't share a link because I'm not here to promote my own product. My point is simply that profitable grid EAs do exist—you just shouldn't buy the same recycled EAs from shady developers.

Run your own backtests, and use specialized tools to check whether an EA is curve-fitted or relies on unrealistic assumptions.

I don't think the question is whether profitable EAs exist. They absolutely do.

The real question is whether you can distinguish a genuine trading system from a marketing campaign.

The MQL5 Marketplace is flooded with products driven by hype rather than long term performance. Some disappear because they eventually fail. Others disappear because the author walks away after making enough sales. And yes, a small minority are removed despite being profitable for reasons unrelated to performance.

That's why buying an EA based on a beautiful equity curve or a few months of gains is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.

My rule has always been simple: if an EA doesn't have at least 6 - 12 months of verified live performance across different market conditions, I don't even consider it.

A professional trader doesn't buy promises. He buys evidence. The market eventually exposes every illusion. The only question is whether you'll discover it before or after paying for it.

Victor's right that "super A.I. machine learning" is usually the tell, not the feature — a real edge has an economic reason you can say in one sentence, not a black box.

While ML based EAs are a black box, I wasn't talking about machine learning. Basic adaptive trend via volatility.

No doubt there are profitable EAs, but the differentiating factor is the longevity of the EA, as market scenario changes the algo system must be able to adapt.
