don't remember if the situation in Cyprus was caused because of public debt or because of banks' debt.

In the second case, it is difficult to oppose to the measures taken, isn't it?

I am looking at it from a practical point of view : events that are having such a tension built around them tend to end in major whipsaws. It is almost sure that the first impulse will be in a completely wrong direction. So my intention is to wait till that first strike passes and then decide what to do

Frankly, I do not see any difference at all

The question is not if the situation was caused by public debt or bank malfunction. The question is who decided that the rightful owners of the money - the bank account holders - have less right then the one that got that money (whoever got his paw on that money)? That is, by any criteria, a theft, and an extremely cynical way of "solving the crisis". Taking from the ones that can not complaint can be named using only one name : fascism

It is obvious that just an interest rate cut is not going to move EURO as much down as ECB expected. If they are to eneter the currency war they are going to have the use all the "weapons" that others are using for a long time. And they are going to have to invent even new "weapons". Time when it was enough to mention volatility on a press conference and cause a big move with it (like Draghi's predecessor Trichet did) are long gone
