electra wont backtest for me
Hi all,
I downloaded electra and compiled it for MT4 but I cant, for the life of me, get it to backtest.
I know my data is good because ive tested other EA's ok.
I ran it with no parm changes using highest data setting (pips).
there are no error messages in the journal.
What could be wrong here?

You should set the initial deposit for electra in expert properties dialog to 100.000 or more. Electra on a 0.1 minimal lot broker needs that 100.000 to work. On a 0.01 broker the minimum is (from some of my experiments) 12-13.000 but that also depends on a symbol you want to test, so, for testing purposes simply set initial deposit to high number (at least in testing we all can be rich

I did get it trade this time after setting initial bank to $100,000 but it traded at a loss on the EURJPY over the year of 2008 with only 7 trades.
Something is still wrong here.....

It is the backtesting ...
Electra is MTF EA using many timeframes. But baktesting is going on the 1 tmeframe. Besides, Electra was designed to close all the trades for th acounts (19 pairs for example) in profit or in loss (some kind of account protection feature). And using backtesting - we can not backtest all 19 pairs simultaniously.
That is why you get this results in backtesting.
You can select the other settings for this pair for example.

I stopped forward testing Electra original (1.11 version) and started to test 1.17 (ID 756 with RAS). Read this post for more: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173403/page25
Excel files were updated as well.
Reason?
1.17 version is more stable version for long run.
As to Alpha EA so this EA will be improved as well. And Electra will be improved more with more versions (started from this week).

I have Electra 1.11 and it shows insufficient money to saftey trade this pair...What should i have to do...? change any inputs or what i should do. Im testing my demo acct with 10k. Reply waited.
