I have just launched a new trading product this weekend: The Apex Trader
It is a grid system using the popular “AUDCAD/AUDNZD/NZDCAD” setup, but with several twists:
- With bigger grids, you’ll get bigger profits! That means that if there is some equity drawdown because of the grid getting bigger, it will also become a much more profitable trade if it closes successfully. Normally the big disadvantage of grid systems, is that you take a lot of risk, for a few dollars of profits. So with Apex Trader, I tried to counter this disadvantage with some smart algorithms and money management.
- I personally don’t like grids that eventually blow your account (who does?), so I build in some safety features, based on historical results. So there are exit points of the grid when it gets out of hand. Though it didn’t need this “exit” in my 2016-2023 backtests, it is nice to know that your account is protected from blowing up, if you use my recommendations regarding setup. Key will be: don’t overleverage!
- There are several potential “grid setups”, going from a conservative build up in lotsize, to an “optimal” build up.
- Minimum recommended accountsize for lowest risk: 2000$. For optimal grid setup: 10K
- Leverage of 1:100 or bigger recommended.
- In theory, you could start with 1000$ with the conservative grid setup, and have no margin problems, but if one of the worst periods of the last 8 years would happen, it might cause problems. (you can always ask me for personal advice regarding your setup)
As usual, I’m launching at a ridiculous low price for existing customers of 129$, but price will go up a bit faster than usual (next Monday already to 199$) since the EA should make back this amount within 1-2 months or even less, depending on your setup. So you won’t need months to make back your investment.
It is still a grid, so there are some risks as with any grid. But I tried to make it as safe a possible, and as profitable as possible. With any grid, it would be wise to take profits from the table from time to time.
