Hi, I run two instances of JFD MT4 (with different login and passwords - downloaded at different times) - when I run the history downloader on one instance (the new one) I get about 60,000 M5 bars but when I run it on the older one I get only 9000 M5 bars - do you know why this could be?
Cheers

Hello. Are the two instances connected to the same server ?
Different servers can have different history data.
If you are running one instance since a long time, it could also be that more history data are available on your Terminal than on the broker server which didn't keep it.

WHERE CAN I FIND OUT THE FILE CREATED ?
WHERE CAN I FIND OUT THE FILE CREATED ?
The utility is downloading usual MT4 broker data in an automatic way.
You can find these data files in [Data Folder]\history\[Broker-Name]\ folder.
[Data Folder] is accessible with "Open Data Folder" command in the MT4 "File" menu.
Thanks.
couple of questions before I do this.
Do I need to increase the max bars history? TOOLS/CHARTS/ little drop down on bottom.
Do I need to delete old history data for each chart that I use this tool on? TOOLS/HISTORY CENTER then delete all m1 m5 etc for say Eur/Usd for example? Then use this utility tool?
Can a version be produced for MT5?
It's not planned and not really necessary as MT5 is downloading the needed data automatically when you request them (by code). While MT4 requires some more sophisticated processing.
Please see mql5 documentation here : https://www.mql5.com/en/docs/series/timeseries_access

It depends of the broker. If your broker provide a lot of history data you could have to increase the "Max bars in history" (default 512,000 bars).
Mainly if your broker provide more history data than what a chart can keep, you could need to increase the "Max bars in chart" (default 65,000).
If you want to be sure to grab all data available by a broker, set these 2 settings to a very big value, run the tool, then set the 2 values to reasonable ones (otherwise your MT4 platform will consume a lot of memory).

You don't need to delete anything, unless you are unsure about the data you already get and want to grab them from scratch.
Hi! First of all: big thanks for this great product!!
Question: How can i be sure that the history will be downloaded from my own broker and not the MetaQuotes history? Because when i choose a pair in the history center and try to download the history manually, there is this message which says that the history won't be downloaded from your own broker, but from the MetaQuotes server ...

Thank you. You are most welcome.
You can be sure all data will be from your broker because this is done purely by MQL code, and nothing comparable to what is happening using the History Center manually can occur.
It works well. Thank you
Hi, first of all thanks for sharing!
Im downloading data for pairs and other assets like gold and nasdaq, us30, etc.
I drop in the 1st chart of my market watch and let it run for all pairs and time frames.
1st time took a little bit but only managed to top 51% quality.
Im aiming for my traditional 90% but I dont know if im doing something wrong.
I keep downloading but it takes less time and my drive is not really lowering the capacity so I know I dont have yet all the ticks.
I dont know what Im doing wrong - Im covering as a video tutorial to share since this tools is very OP but I want to verify im doing everything as should be.
I dont feel theres too much to do since you did a magnificent job but if you feel theres something to double check let me know.
If not I will try again tomorrow!
I don't see a place to review your EA else I would do it (when I visited the overview and reviews page there is no place for me to drop review)
Just tried this and it seems to works. Still downloading data as I type this :)
