There will be no label on the imbalance lines formed on the same timeframe. For example, if you're on a 15 minute timeframe with all the HTF set to "false", you will only see the imbalance lines for that specific timeframe with no labels (Pic 1)The labels will only appear on the higher timeframe imbalance lines when set to "true" (Pic 2).

The indicator may remove an imbalance line if the ATR value changes and drops below the amount of imbalance created by the candle. It is more prevalent on lower timeframes because the ATR value changes more often, but it's still not enough to notice.

Good evening Mr. Merritt,

Please can you explain to me what function the "secondary line" has.

It's a bit hard for me to understand, thank you for your kindness.

Thanks a lot

Sure, basically the secondary line gives you an indication of how much of the imbalance has been filled. As price retraces back to the original imbalance line, that gap between the main imbalance line and the secondary line will decrease until the the imbalance is filled completely. I added a pic to hopefully show you visually, sometimes it's easier to see than to try and explain it.

what time frame do you use ?

You can use this on any timeframe, but if you are using it on higher timeframes like 4 Hour and above you need to adjust the Bars to count to around 300-400 bars as they may not show on the chart. I personally scalp the US30, Nas100, and SPX500, but you can swing trade with this also.

I have just purchased your Market Imbalance Indicator & I am unsure about "Enable to use ATR as Pipsize Filter" & would appreciate if you could expand on this. When would you use this as against "Minimum Pip size for imbalance"?

Thanks

Justin

So, using the default setting of "True" allows the indicator to adjust to match changing ATR sizes due to volatility and market volume. I just included an option to turn it off in case some traders would like a fixed pip size. I, personally, leave it set to True because in higher market volatility, if you set it to a fixed pip size that's too small, you may diminish the number of trading opportunities because the indicator may not draw an imbalance line where there normally would be one if set to True.

Hey there,

Thanks for this amazing indicator.

I have 2 questions:

1) In one of your pictures, it shows an UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW almost like a signal to buy or sell. Is this available on this version?

2) When an imbalance is formed would you create a position in that direction as its formed or wait for it to be filled and go with that direction?

Unfortunately, that was a different indicator that was used by another customer in conjunction with this indicator. There are no Buy/Sell signals provided with this as it is more of an informational indicator, not a signal generator.

2) When an imbalance is formed would you create a position in that direction as its formed or wait for it to be filled and go with that direction?

I'm sorry, I cannot provide trading advice with regards to this indicator. How you use it depends on your trading style and how you perceive the information provided.

Unfortunately, for liability reasons, I cannot provide any specific trading advice for you. The big difference between the Market Imbalance and the Point of Interest indicators is simple. The Market Imbalance indicator lines provide a visualization where price imbalances within the candle itself or certain price range are prevalent. This illustrates gaps in the orders being made by big banks and these gaps eventually must be filled to mitigate those open orders. The Point of interest lines on the other hand are considered areas where big banks may head to as there is liquidity to be taken in those areas before price either reverses or continues to capture additional liquidity elsewhere before reversing. A lot of times when a POI is broken, you may see a reversal where open imbalances may become filled. This is where you apply your own strategy to using that information. Best thing to do is watch the indicators on the charts and see how they interact. I hope this helps a little. I do not have any arrow indicators at this time.

Hi Author just bought appreciate your advice on above question.....

It depends on if the "Minimum Bars For Imbalance" is set to. If its more than 2, it will not show if filled within 2 bars. Also, if the ATR value has changed, it mat no longer meet the ATR requirements. The ATR value can change quite a bit on a 1 minute timeframe.
