Multi-Indicator Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4 & MetaTrader 5
Overview
ORTHODOX is a configurable Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 that combines four independent market-analysis modules with adaptive position sizing and multi-level position protection.
The trading logic evaluates the market through several complementary approaches — trend, momentum, market cycles and directional movement — and uses their combined output to validate potential entries.
Instead of relying on a single indicator, ORTHODOX uses a multi-signal confirmation model in which a configurable number of independent modules must agree before a position can be opened.
All major trading, money-management and protection parameters are exposed in the inputs, allowing the system to be adapted to different instruments, timeframes and trading approaches.
How the System Works1. Multi-Signal Confirmation
ORTHODOX combines four independent analytical modules:
-
SuperTrend
-
Fisher Transform
-
Schaff Trend Cycle
-
Vortex Indicator
Each module evaluates the market from a different perspective. The resulting signals are combined by the Expert Advisor, and a trade is considered only when the required level of agreement is reached.
This structure allows the trader to build a confirmation model around multiple independent measurements rather than relying on one signal source.
SuperTrend
SuperTrend provides the primary trend-direction component of the signal model.
SignalSuperTrendPeriod
Defines the calculation period of SuperTrend and affects its responsiveness to changes in market direction.
SignalSuperTrendMultiplier
Defines the ATR multiplier used by SuperTrend. It influences the distance of the channel and its sensitivity to market fluctuations.
Fisher Transform
Fisher Transform is used as a momentum and market-extreme component of the signal model.
SignalFisherPeriod
Defines the calculation period of the Fisher Transform.
SignalFisherSmooth
Controls the degree of smoothing applied to the Fisher calculation and influences its response to short-term market fluctuations.
Schaff Trend Cycle
The Schaff Trend Cycle provides an additional view of market cycles and directional transitions.
SignalStcFastLength
Defines the fast STC calculation period and affects sensitivity to shorter market cycles.
SignalStcSlowLength
Defines the slower STC component used to evaluate broader cycle behaviour.
SignalStcCycleLength
Controls the cycle length used in the STC calculation.
SignalStcFactor
Defines the smoothing factor of the STC calculation and affects the balance between smoothness and responsiveness.
Vortex Indicator
SignalVortexPeriod
Defines the calculation period of the Vortex Indicator, which evaluates directional movement and the strength of price movement.
2. Money ManagementORTHODOX includes a dedicated money-management module that allows position size to be controlled either through a fixed base volume or through automatic capital-based regulation.
AutoCapitalRegulationOn
Enables automatic position-size regulation according to the current account conditions.
CapitalExposureRatio
Defines the target capital-exposure ratio as a percentage.
BaseContractSize
Defines the base position size in lots used as the starting point for position calculations.
PositionChainDepth
Limits the maximum depth of a position sequence.
AllocationScalingExponent
Controls how position allocation changes as the depth of the position sequence increases.
These parameters allow the trader to define how position size and total exposure should behave as additional positions are added to a sequence.
3. Protection and Position ManagementORTHODOX provides several independent protection mechanisms for controlling open positions and prolonged position sequences.
ProfitCeilingPoints
Defines the profit-taking distance in points.
LossFloorPoints
Defines the maximum protection distance for an individual position in points.
TrailingUnitOn
Enables or disables the trailing-stop mechanism.
TrailingUnitStart
Defines the profit distance in points after which trailing becomes active.
TrailingUnitStop
Defines the trailing distance or step in points.
StartLevel
Defines the initial activation level for the protection logic.
PendingTrailActive
Enables the pending-order trailing mechanism.
PendingTrail
Defines the distance used by the pending-order trailing logic.
CorrectionStrategy
Controls the correction mechanism for prolonged position sequences.
When enabled, the protection logic can progressively adjust stop levels during extended sequences.
0 — correction disabled.
4. Trading EnvironmentORTHODOX provides independent controls for trading direction and instance identification.
LongExposureEnabled
Allows Buy positions.
ShortExposureEnabled
Allows Sell positions.
Both directions can be enabled or disabled independently.
StrategyInstanceID
Provides a unique identifier for each Expert Advisor instance, allowing multiple copies of the strategy to operate with separate trade identification.
ExecutionTag
Adds a custom text tag to trades for easier identification in the trading history.
FillExecutionPolicy
Defines the order-filling policy available in MetaTrader 5.
This parameter is applicable to MT5.
InstitutionalExecutionMode
Enables an alternative execution mode with additional execution checks and stricter entry conditions where required by the trading environment.

Configurable execution environment
ORTHODOX is designed with transparent input groups so that the trader can control the main components of the system directly from the Expert Advisor settings.
The main groups are:
Signal
Controls the four analytical modules and their confirmation parameters.
Money Management
Controls capital exposure, base position size and position-chain scaling.
Protection
Controls profit/loss boundaries, trailing logic and protection adjustments.
Environment
Controls trading direction, strategy identification and execution settings.
This separation makes it easier to evaluate and modify individual parts of the trading system without changing the underlying Expert Advisor.
Recommended UsageBefore using ORTHODOX in live trading, test the Expert Advisor thoroughly in the MetaTrader Strategy Tester on the instruments and timeframes you intend to trade.
Default settings should be treated as a starting configuration rather than a universal setup.
When optimizing the Expert Advisor, consider:
-
instrument volatility;
-
timeframe characteristics;
-
typical spread;
-
commission;
-
execution conditions;
-
account size;
-
position-chain depth;
-
capital-exposure settings.
For a more objective evaluation, test the complete configuration over different historical market periods rather than relying on a single backtest interval.
After attaching the Expert Advisor to a live or demo chart, monitor the first trades carefully and verify that the execution behaviour corresponds to your selected parameters.
Risk DisclosureORTHODOX is a trading automation tool and does not guarantee profit or any specific trading result.
Trading Forex and other financial instruments involves a high level of risk and can result in partial or complete loss of trading capital.
Past performance and historical testing results do not guarantee future results. Actual trading conditions may differ from historical data due to spread, commission, slippage, liquidity, execution speed and other market factors.
Before using the Expert Advisor with real funds, conduct your own testing and risk assessment. Use position sizes and exposure levels that are appropriate for your account and risk tolerance.
ORTHODOX is designed for traders who value transparent configuration, multi-layered signal confirmation and direct control over position sizing and protection.
