This Expert Advisor is built and calibrated for Gold (XAUUSD). It does not open trades when attached to a different symbol (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc.); this is a built-in safety restriction.

Overview

GoldEdge is a rules-based Expert Advisor built for XAUUSD. Its logic was developed and tested using historical price data.

The Expert Advisor is designed around one principle: a trade is only opened when several independent conditions occur together, rather than on a single signal.

Entry logic

GoldEdge does not open a trade on every bar. Before a position is opened, the Expert Advisor checks several independent filters, including a short-term trend filter, a momentum filter intended to avoid overextended market conditions, a session-based value reference, and a price-reaction zone that requires confirmation rather than a single touch.

A position is opened only when these conditions occur at the same time. Depending on market conditions, some days produce several setups and others produce none. This is part of how the entry logic is designed.

Trade management

How each trade is managed after entry:

• The Stop Loss is set based on recent price structure rather than a fixed distance.
• Depending on the settings chosen, position size is either calculated from a risk percentage and the distance to the Stop Loss for that trade, or set as a fixed lot size.
• Each signal is split into three separate targets, so parts of the position can close at different levels instead of all at once.
• After the first target is reached, the Stop Loss on the remaining positions is moved to the entry price.
• If the terminal disconnects or restarts, GoldEdge reloads its saved state and checks what happened while it was offline.

The Expert Advisor does not use grid or martingale techniques, and does not use unlimited recovery cycles. Each position is sized and managed independently from entry to exit.

How it works

• Attach GoldEdge to an XAUUSD chart and set the desired risk percentage or fixed lot size.
• The Expert Advisor monitors the market and checks its entry conditions on each new bar.
• When the conditions are met, GoldEdge calculates the position size and opens a position split across three targets.
• Each position is managed automatically, including the Stop Loss adjustment after the first target.

• Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold)
• Timeframe: M5
• Account type: Hedging (required, since the Expert Advisor manages several positions at once per signal)
• Minimum deposit: 200 USD or equivalent
• A virtual private server (VPS) is recommended to keep the Expert Advisor running without interruptions from a local internet or power outage.
