Oriens Dei

Catch the trend. Ride it. Leave when it turns.

Oriens Dei is a gold (XAUUSD) and USDCAD trend robot. It waits for gold to choose a direction, joins each new leg of the move, and holds until the trend itself turns. Small losses, big trend winners. No grid, no martingale, a hard stop on every trade.

Most gold robots take a quick profit and miss the real move. Oriens Dei does the opposite: it cuts losers fast and lets winners run for as long as the trend lives. One good trend can pay for many small losses - that is the whole idea.

How it works (simple)
1. Trend: a HalfTrend channel on M30 tells the robot whether gold is in a bull or a bear trend.
2. Entry: inside the trend, it buys every new breakout above the last swing high (sells below the last swing low in a down-trend). A second trigger, the QEP confluence signal (momentum, volume flow and moving averages agreeing), can open an extra leg. Maximum two positions at a time.
3. Stop: every trade has a hard stop on the HalfTrend band. Trades whose stop would be too far away are skipped.
4. Protection: at +1.5R the stop moves to break-even.
5. Exit: no fixed target. The trade closes when the trend turns.
Shorts are only taken when price is below its long-term average, so the robot does not fight gold's bull market. It trades Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Friday only when the day's move is strong).

Backtest results
Deriv XAUUSD, January 2024 to October 2026, spread and slippage included, 0.5% risk per trade:

- Profit factor 1.89 -: 1.61 (2024), 2.28 (2025), 1.87 (2026 to October)
- Maximum drawdown 7.7%
- Average win +1.85R, average loss -0.79R, best trade +24R

- 23 of 34 months in profit

- USDCAD works best with Higher Timeframes especially H2

Honest note:  These are backtest results and do not guarantee future results. Always test on a demo account first.

You control the risk
- Risk % of balance per trade (default 0.5%) or fixed lots.
- Hard caps: maximum loss per trade in money, and maximum lot size.
- One or two positions per trend.
- Longs only, shorts only, or both.
- Optional Friday close if you do not want to hold over the weekend.
For reference, the same trades at 0.25% risk: +88% with 3.9% max drawdown; at 1% risk: +1,016% with 14.8% max drawdown. Higher risk raises return and drawdown together.

Recommendations
- Symbol: XAUUSD (gold). Timeframe: any chart; the robot reads M30 internally.
- Account: hedging account recommended (two positions). On a netting account it trades one position at a time.
- Minimum balance: about 5,000 USD at 0.5% risk (gold stops are typically 12 to 32 USD per 0.01 lot). If the calculated lot is below your broker's minimum, the trade is skipped instead of over-risking. Smaller accounts can use fixed 0.01 lots together with the max-loss cap.
- Trades are held overnight (typically 1 day). Low-swap or swap-free accounts are an advantage.

Clock setting

Set "Broker clock vs UTC": "GMT+2/+3 with US DST" for most brokers, or "Manual" with your server offset (0 for brokers on UTC). The panel shows the detected clock.

Meridian Dei is a gold (XAUUSD) day-trading robot built on one clear market behaviour: when London holds price on one side of the session VWAP all morning, New York usually continues that move. It waits for the New York pullback to VWAP, enters only when price closes back in the trend direction, protects every trade with a hard stop, and is flat by 19:15 UTC every day. No grid, no martingale, no averaging, no overnight positions.   The idea: London decides the day, New York pays it   Most gold
