RANGE BREAKOUT BOOSTED MT5 - A FRAMEWORK FOR MULTICURRENCY BREAKOUT TRADING

RANGE BREAKOUT BOOSTED MT5 trades the classic opening-range-breakout setup fully automatically: it measures the high/low of a session window you define, places pending stop orders on both sides of that range, and manages everything — entries, opposite-order handling, profit protection, and end-of-day closure — without manual intervention.

How it works                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

  1. Range capture — Between RangeStartHour and RangeEndHour (broker time), the EA records the highest high and lowest low on the symbol's M1 data.        

  2. Breakout orders — Right after RangeEndHour, it places a Buy Stop at the range high and a Sell Stop at the range low, each with a stop loss placed a configurable buffer (SL_BufferPercent) beyond the opposite side of the range.                               

  3. Session close — At CloseHour, all open positions are closed and any remaining pending orders are cancelled, so the strategy never carries risk overnight unless you configure it to.                                                                                                                                                                                           

  4. Daily reset — State resets automatically at the start of each new day, and recovers correctly if the terminal or EA restarts mid-session.

  - Three lot-sizing modes — choose what fits your money management:               

    - Fixed lot — a constant volume every trade.                                                                                                                                                                                          

    - Equity step — automatically scales size as your account grows/shrinks ($X of equity adds 0.01 lot).      

    - Risk percent — classic risk-based sizing: position size is calculated so a stop-out loses a fixed % of equity.                               

  - Flexible opposite-order handling — once one side of the breakout fills, choose to:

    - delete the opposite pending order, or                                                                                                                                                                                               

    - leave it active, or                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

    - automatically multiply its lot size by a configurable factor (for traders who want to lean into a confirmed breakout in one direction).  

  - One-time profit protection — optionally moves the stop loss to lock in a configurable number of points once a trade reaches a profit trigger.

  - Weekend control — independently enable/disable new order placement on Saturday and Sunday, for symbols that trade through the weekend (crypto, etc.).

  - Visual range box — draws a colored, filled rectangle on the chart marking each day's captured range, with adjustable color and how many recent days stay visible (auto-cleans older boxes).                                                                                                                                                                                   

  - Safe by design — magic-number isolated, full input validation on load, and state recovery after any restart so you never lose track of the day's orders.
