I hope this message finds you well. First of all, I would like to say that I am delighted with the indicator. I have started studying it, and I find it very useful and well-designed.

However, I’ve noticed a small issue. Although I have enabled the "Write Alert for journal.log" option in the indicator’s settings, the alerts do not seem to be recorded correctly in the journal.log file. I have checked the logs folder in the MetaTrader 4 data directory, but I cannot find the alerts.

I would really appreciate it if you could guide me on how to make this functionality work correctly or if there is anything else I need to configure in order to see the alerts in the journal.log for better analysis.

Thank you for your purchase and kind words. I understand your question, but so many different features have already been made in the indicator that I don't even remember exactly what settings are responsible for logging there. As far as I remember, all service messages of the indicator that appear in the ‘Experts’ tab of the terminal are written in the working log of the terminal. Both alerts and a message about the interruption of connection with the broker and other system messages of the indicator are recorded there. But now I'm on a small Christmas trip and I'll be at the work computer on January 2, and I'll see in more detail what the problem could be.

Honestly, I didn't want to change the indicator's control panel and wanted to finish the updated manual for the new version of the indicator. But during the process and thanks to your feedback, I realized that it is very inconvenient when we cannot see the state of the Reject Filter directly on the indicator panel. Additionally, the problem was that this filter only worked for 1-2 strategies. Therefore, users were confused about why nothing changed for the third strategy when the Reject Filter mode was activated.

Now everything is immediately clear, and on the task panel, we can see whether the Reject Filter is activated and whether it is available for the current strategy.

Regarding the overall idea of the Reject Filter in version v7.4 of the indicator, I would like to remind you of its main purpose:

In the chart above, Local Trends represent our working timeframe, while HTF Trends represent the global trend from higher timeframes. By activating the Reject Filter, we enable the rejection of price movements on the current timeframe (Local Trends) that go against the HTF Trends.

Does this also work for higher timeframes such as H1, similar to the M5 timeframe? Yes, it does!

Is it always 100% effective? No, not always. Since we rely on trends from higher timeframes as a basis, we may experience a slightly delayed reaction of the current timeframe to price movements. However, in general, this approach is functional but should not be expected to yield a must-have effect. For example, it would be effective during scalping within a range, especially on less volatile financial instruments. Activating this option will generally result in a reduction in the number of trades but an increase in the WR%.

As for the alerts module, in the new v7.4 version, in addition to the already available signals about the arrow and target levels, as well as about the price touching the opening level (in Delta Entry Mode), signals about reaching the target levels TP1-TP3 have been added:

Hello. First of all, I want to say to you and all indicator users that I am sorry for the delay in updating the manual for the newest version. But I am currently preparing a major update of all instructions and manuals – I want to make them more user-friendly and informative, add new sections and examples. At the same time, the current manual is still relevant for the new version, it just does not include some nuances and features that appeared in the new version. And I will soon fix this and bring you a global update. But a little more time is needed.

Now let's get straight to the question about the Reject Filter. Here, the word "should" is not quite appropriate, as with other indicator settings. This is a convenient additional filter, but not mandatory for use. I will add more information about this in the new manual.

So, let's consider an example and what logic we can follow when choosing whether to use or not an additional filter.

For instance, let's open the XAUUSD chart:

I think it looks pretty good as it is; I wouldn't even optimize it, but let's try running the automatic optimization and see what happens:

The indicator recalculated some settings and adjusted itself for use on the current financial asset. And, in general, the already good result became even more better.

Can we use the previous version without optimization? Of course, we can. Optimization is, in general, a good and, most importantly, quick way to evaluate whether a financial instrument is currently suitable for work at all. I already mentioned this earlier – what if, at startup, we see a very low percentage like 60%, but after optimization it rises to 90%. This is more of a reason for caution than happiness, as over-optimization is possible. It is much better if we already see a decent result (>= 75%) and then move on to further adjustments.

And again, I will add that if the result for the current instrument or timeframe, you are not satisfied, you can move to another timeframe or change the instrument, and return to this after some time, as market tendencies change and in the future we may see acceptable results.

Activate Reject Filter:

The percentage of profitable positions increased because a portion of positions that were against the trend was cut out. This does not always work perfectly, as we may lose part of the profitable positions as well, but overall, this method is quite applicable. Especially on less volatile instruments or during flat market phases.

See, my friends, a couple of examples on how to use the indicator more effectively. Remember that the indicator is not the Grail yet – but we are on the way to it. 😏 Therefore, you should not just open all the trades in a row, and study the market a little bit at the same time. Perhaps in the future I will make a recommendation system in the indicator that will notify you when a position has certain problems, but for now I will show you a couple of examples.

Look how big a price gap we got before the weekend:

Remember the basic rule of GAPs - they tend to overlap back up as quickly as possible. So, if we see a gap like this, we can assume that price will go up afterward to close the gap! It can be compared to a stretched rubber band. But all the technical tools will show you that this is a strong downward trend, which in fact, technically you can refer to it. But in practice, it's just a price gap, and I recommend avoiding such signals.

Next, look at the signal before it. I generally do not recommend leaving positions over the weekend if you are trading intraday with small targets. Just like I don't recommend opening positions in a market that is already closing before the weekend.

What is the reason? Your technical analysis after the weekend may change (as in our example). Some news may occur over the weekend that will move the market in an unexpected direction (creating a Gap, for example).

So, knowing even a couple of these rules will already improve your trading potential.

Now a couple comments about the ability to set stops using HTF-Filter Trailing:

In the picture above - the signal on the left, you can see the signal I labeled as weakly formed. This is easily understood by its length of 2-3 bars. This should tell us that the resistance was not significant and this may not be suitable as a strong level, but we can watch this more closely - what happens next.

But the next HTF-Filter signal is a well-formed formation, after which the price continued its downward movement. And this is a great place to place your protective stop orders, if you have not placed them earlier.

This time we are talking about adjustments in the indicator time filter module. I rarely use this filter myself, but thanks to the observation of one of our colleagues, we managed to identify the problem of disappearance of some signals at the junction of working and non-working hours. Now everything should work correctly.

Moreover, I have significantly revised this entire module to make it more visual and convenient for those who use it. The module of working with external indicators was also improved. But let's talk about everything in order.

🆕 Firstly, a few variables for the Time Filter module have been added. The variables are added near the end of the list of all variables, so that they do not affect the already created projects based on the indicator:

Inactive Signal Color – sets the color of inactive trades that are displayed on the chart outside of working hours and are not counted in the statistics.

Marking Working Hours on Chart – activates the display of working time marks on the bars. Disabled by default. Made more in order to quickly evaluate which bars/candles are included in the Time Filter time range.

Color of Working Hours Markers – custom selection of color of marks on bars about active time range, if ‘UseTemplate’ setting is disabled.

Thus, when activating time marks on the chart, we have the opportunity to quickly assess which bars are included in the calculation of statistics and also quickly cut off any unfavorable time periods if necessary. For example, if part of our strategy's losses occur during a period outside the volatile (London, New York) sessions. Or vice versa, using this function, we can simulate the work of one of the strategies, including custom ones, during the Tokyo session.

Let me remind you that the main settings of Time Filter are the following variables:

🆕 Now as for working with custom indicators via Scalper Inside Pro. Time Filter module works for them as well.

Therefore, for simplicity, just place your custom indicators in the ‘Indicators’ folder of the terminal, or carefully specify the path to them.

I also want to make an important remark. Custom indicators are started within the Scalper Inside Pro indicator using default settings, as it is impossible to take into account all external settings of a vast number of indicators. However, I am working on this, and maybe in the future, I will be able to offer a solution for this task.
