Can I manage multiple charts and pairs from one instance of this EA or will I need to setup a new chart for everyone I would like to manage?
As already mentioned by PM, unfortunately TaB needs one instance for every chart it should manage.
In a future version, Take a Break might support managing multiple charts as this is a frequent feature request. Personally, I also see the value of this improvements.

New version 2.0 online - full support for multi-charts has been added.

Hi, I've only turned on high impact news filter only for trading GBPUSD. The current broker time shows 2pm GMT+2 but I don't see any high impact news at this moment. However, the first and second screenshot seem to indicate that the utility has disabled trading. What can go wrong in my setting? Please advise.
Also, do you plan to add a function that the utility can disable trading on a whole day of high impact news, not by setting pause X mins before and after since some of them are not fixed-time scheduled?

Hi!
I checked the code and found that the issue is caused by a bug in the time filter. Sorry for that! Will release an update which fixes the issue. Meanwhile, you can continue trading by re-applying the TaB EA to your chart.
This update will also include the requested "Stop trading for the whole day" option.

The time filter issue was fixed and your request has also been added to version 4.99. Enjoy!
Hi Eric,
I am a happy paid up user of your MT4 Take a Break product.
Upon trying your MT5 version (free for testing) - I found that for the EA side of things, the EA seems to be stuck in this 'retrieving symbols to manage, please wait', and the EA seems to have uninstalled itself as well since the MT5 'EA Operational' icon is missing.
Any ideas why this might be the case? I did set up the right Webrequest in case you are wondering, and that's why the indicator is also working fine

Hi Eric
Upon investigation of the Journal, I saw the following - what could this mean?

Hi Alan,
thanks for sharing the issue.
Could you please check which MT5 version you're using under Help -> About?
TaB's MT5 version and its trade management library was recently updated to support build version 2940. Maybe it does not work with older MT5 builds now. Unfortunately, I cannot check that as I do not use any older builds anymore.
If the "About" section shows a build version < 2940, please try to update MT5 through Help -> Check Desktop Updates -> Latest Release Version.
Another option would be to delete the TaB EA from your terminal and re-download it from the Market.
If nothing of the above helps, please contact me by PM so that I can investigate the issue further.
Thanks in advance.

I'll write you separately then, the version is 2981
Hi Eric, Can the EA 1. close all trades and after that 2. turn off the MT4 not allowing it to be started again for the particular day once the daily loss limit is reached?
Thanks! Peter

Hi Peter,
yes it can :) Only requirement: you need to add the TaB indicator to all charts having active EAs.
This comes due to a limitation in MetaTrader which does not allow to simply "Disable Algo Trading" globally without using DLL files. But even if that would be possible, it would then also prevent TaB from being re-enabled automatically. That's why you need to do it on a per-chart basis.
Hope that helps.

Eric
Both are not working on same time.MT5 is rejecting one.
How to add both at the same time on the chart?

Hey there,
TaB consists of 2 parts: an EA and an Indicator. You need to add the indicator to the chart with your other EA.
Also see the setup example here: https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/51828

Hi Eric, I have a question. How does TaB handle MT4 EAs that trade multiple pairs on the same chart? Such as North East Way, Goldnix or PipGenius? Is a separate chart needed for each pair, or just for each EA? Thanks!

Hi John,
sorry for getting back so late - I somehow missed the notification about your comment.
TaB can also handle EAs that trade all symbols from just one chart. You just need to specify all the symbols manually then in the "Filter News Symbols" section.
Note that this will then stop your EA whenever there are news for any of the specified symbols, even though not all symbols might actually be affected by the upcoming news event.
Thus, I usually recommend to set up a separate chart for every symbol so that only those charts are paused that are actually affected by the news.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Eric
Hello ERIC. Thank you for giving a wonderful Ea.
Currently, I am running 4 EAs for 4 different currency pairs: EURUSD; GBPUSD; XAUUSD; USDCHF.
- I'm setting up: enable High Impact News and Non-Farm Payrols for EURUSD trading only (Delete S/L + TP before news and restore after, stop EA entry 180 minutes before and after news)
- Accompanied by that I want to set: Drawdown in Account Equity for the day is 4% - By Equity (open + closed trades), after a 4% stoped, the EA closes the trade and the next day Ea reopens.
I have set up as shown in the picture; Can you advise me, is it correct or not?
Once again Thank you.

Hey there,
your settings are almost perfect :)
Regarding removal of S/L + T/P, you also need to set the "Take action X minutes before news" to a value > 0.
I would suggest to put at least 5 here, which means that the S/L + T/P will be removed 5 minutes before High News and restored 5 minutes after news.
For the daily loss limit, it needs to be specified as a value < 0 (as stated in the parameter description). So it should be "-4" in your case.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Eric
