MelloNewsClock puts the time left in the current bar and the next economic events on your chart. The events come from the economic calendar built into MetaTrader 5, so it needs no DLL, no WebRequest and no website to allow.

Clock

  • Time left in the current bar, in the panel and next to the price
  • When the market is closed it shows the time until the next trading session
  • Server time and your local time
  • Spread now, with the average and the maximum since the indicator started

Economic events

  • The next events for the currencies of your chart, or any currencies you type, with a countdown
  • Forecast and previous values, and the actual value of the last released event
  • Filter by importance: high only, medium and high, or all
  • Vertical lines at event times on the chart, dashed before the event and dotted after it, with the details in the tooltip

Alerts (off by default)

A set number of minutes before an event, as popup, push or email. Each event alerts once.

For EA developers

Buffer 0: minutes to the next event. Buffer 1: minutes since the last event. Both use the importance filter of the panel. On the open bar they are live. On closed bars they hold the value at the moment the bar closed, so they do not change afterwards. The history covers the last 30 days. When no event is known the value is EMPTY_VALUE.

Strategy Tester

MetaTrader 5 does not provide the economic calendar in the Strategy Tester. In the tester the clock and spread work, the panel says that the calendar is not available, and both buffers are empty. This is a limit of the platform.

Times

All event times are shown in the broker server time, the same time as your chart.

This is an information tool. It gives no trading signals and does not promise any result. Trading around news can bring wide spreads and fast moves. Trading leveraged products involves a high risk of loss.
