GoldBook is a multi-strategy Expert Advisor for XAUUSD. It runs four independent trading engines in one EA, each looking for a different kind of gold move, and manages them with one shared risk layer. Every trade has a fixed stop loss from the moment it opens. No grid, no martingale, no averaging down.

THE FOUR ENGINES
• Engine 1 – US-session momentum: follows strong trend days during the US session.
• Engine 2 – EMA-stretch setups.
• Engine 3 – Aged-level breakout.
• Engine 4 – Momentum pullback.
Each engine can be switched on or off. Because they trade different sessions and patterns, their results are only loosely related, which keeps the combined equity curve smoother than any single engine.
ONE RISK LAYER
• Risk per trade as % of equity (default 0.40% base risk; each engine uses 0.1x–1x of it), or a fixed lot.
• Open-risk cap: new trades are skipped while the loss of all open trades at their stops would exceed 3% of equity.
• Hard cap per trade (default 2% of equity), max lot size, max spread.
• Engines never open a trade against their own open position.
• Daily loss limit and drawdown guard (both optional). They close all GoldBook trades and pause, and survive a terminal restart.
BACKTEST RESULTS
XAUUSD, every tick based on real ticks, January 2024 – mid-October 2026, default settings, $100,000 start:
• 1,906 trades (about 680 a year), profit factor 1.55, win rate 65%
• Return 21.5% a year, maximum drawdown 4.0%
• 2024 +15.2%, 2025 +31.3%, 2026 (to mid-October) +13.7%
• 23 of 34 months positive; worst month −3.2%
Smaller accounts take fewer trades (see the account-size screenshot): with $10,000 about 70% of signals are taken, with $3,000 about 27%.
REQUIREMENTS
• Symbol: XAUUSD (any broker suffix). Attach to one chart, any timeframe.
• Account: HEDGING. Engines can hold opposite directions at the same time.
• Broker server time GMT+2 in winter / GMT+3 in summer (the usual New York close clock). The panel shows whether your broker matches.
• Typical gold spread under $0.50.
• Recommended deposit: $10,000 or more. $3,000–$10,000 works with fewer trades (or increase risk cap for EA to take more trades). Below $3,000, use a cent account.
• A VPS is recommended.
FLEXIBLE SETTINGS
• Four engine switches, sizing mode, base risk, small-account minimum-lot rule, risk caps.
• Info panel on the chart: status, engines and open trades, open risk, today's trades and P/L, server time check. Any corner.
• Pop-up alerts and push notifications when a trade opens or closes.
• Optional trade journal (CSV).
BACKTESTING TIPS
• Use "Every tick based on real ticks" on XAUUSD. "1 minute OHLC" is fine for a quick look; "Open prices only" cannot run the engines.
• Use a deposit of $10,000 or more and a hedging account. On a deposit too small for 0.01 lot, or on another symbol, the tester switches to a compatibility mode (stated in the journal) that is not the strategy.
GOOD TO KNOW
• The backtest period was a strong, volatile period for gold. Expect live results below the backtest.
• Engine 3 uses pending stop orders, so its results depend most on your broker's fills.
• Past performance does not guarantee future results. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
