1. Strategy
During the Asian session, EURUSD usually trades in a narrow range. When London opens, liquidity arrives and price often leaves that range with momentum. Asian Breakout EA trades exactly that move, and nothing else.
- Step 1 - Range: records the high and low of the Asian session (04:00 - 08:00 broker time).
- Step 2 - Breakout: waits for an H1 candle to close outside the range between 08:00 and 12:00 (a close, not a wick).
- Step 3 - Filters: spread, volatility (ATR), Friday evening and weekend filters must all agree.
- Step 4 - Trade: market entry, Stop Loss on the other side of the range plus an ATR buffer, Take Profit at 1.5 x the risk. Break-even and trailing are managed automatically.
Maximum one trade per day, one position at a time. About 55 trades per year.

The parameters were optimised on 2024-2025 only. The years 2020-2022, which include the COVID crash and the 2022 inflation shock, were never seen during optimisation: the profit factor stayed at 1.42.

2022 was an exceptional trending year for EURUSD. Excluding it, the average is around 6% per year. Expect steady, modest growth, not every year like 2022.
Backtest: MetaQuotes-Demo data, every tick based on real ticks (99% quality), 10,000 EUR, leverage 1:100. Past results do not guarantee future results.
3. Money management
- Dynamic sizing (default): the EA follows its own equity curve. When its equity is above its 50-trade average, it risks 1.0% per trade; otherwise 0.5%. It also starts at 0.5% until it has 50 trades of history.
- Fixed sizing: set UseDynamicSizing = false and choose RiskPercent (0.5% by default).
- Lot size is computed from the Stop Loss distance, the account currency and the broker contract size.
4. Built-in protections
- Daily loss limit: no new trade for the day after -2.5%.
- Total drawdown limit: the EA stops after -10% from its equity peak.
- Friday close: positions closed Friday evening, no weekend gap.
- News window (manual, off by default): you can enter daily time windows (e.g. 1430-1445) during which no new trade is opened.
- Spread and volatility guards: no trade when the spread is abnormal or the market is dead or out of control.
- Chart-independent: all calculations run on H1, whatever the chart timeframe.

Advanced parameters (range hours, RR, ATR) are the validated values. Change them only if your broker is not on GMT+2/+3.
6. Requirements
- MetaTrader 5, hedging account
- EURUSD, H1 chart recommended
- Broker server time GMT+2 / GMT+3 (most brokers). Otherwise, shift the range hours.
- Minimum deposit 500 EUR/USD, 2,000+ recommended
- VPS recommended
7. What this EA is not
- Not a scalper: about one trade per week.
- Not a grid or martingale: one position, lot computed from the risk.
- Not a money printer: a realistic, steady profile with controlled drawdown.
