Vertical Margin

Vertical Margin is a lightweight MT5 chart scaling utility for MetaTrader 5 that adds configurable vertical space above and below the visible price action.

It improves the standard MT5 auto-scale behavior by keeping additional chart margin around the highest and lowest visible candles. This makes the chart easier to read, analyze and draw on without constantly adjusting the price scale manually.

The indicator automatically recalculates the vertical margin when you zoom, scroll or change the visible chart area.

Manual Price Scale

Vertical Margin does not prevent manual chart scaling.

Drag the price scale to set your preferred vertical view. The indicator respects the manual scale instead of immediately overriding it.

To return to the configured automatic margin, simply double-click the price axis.

Keyboard Shortcut

The indicator can be enabled or disabled instantly.

Default: Shift + V

Available shortcut options:

When Vertical Margin is disabled, the chart returns to MT5 native auto-scale behavior with no additional vertical margin.

Input Parameters

Margin on each side (%)
Sets the amount of additional space above and below the visible candle range.

Default: 15%

For example, a value of 15 adds extra chart space equal to 15% of the visible price range above the highest visible price and below the lowest visible price.

Enable/disable hotkey
Selects the keyboard shortcut used to toggle Vertical Margin on or off.
