News Risk Guard

News Risk Guard protects the positions you already hold when a scheduled
economic release is about to hit. It is a risk tool. It does not predict
direction, it does not look for entries of its own, and it makes no claim
about profit.
The calendar is built into the product: 4,101 releases covering 15 recurring
events. No internet permission, no DLL, no file to install, and it behaves the
same in the Strategy Tester as it does on a live chart.
WHAT IT DOES
1. Event protection window
A configurable number of seconds before a release the guard takes over the
positions you told it to manage, and releases them again after the event.
You choose what happens: alert only, move to break-even, tighten the stop,
reduce the volume by a percentage, or close. Stops that the guard moved are
put back exactly where you left them when the window closes.
2. Positions with no stop loss
An unprotected position is the largest single risk an account carries into a
release. The guard can attach an emergency stop, sized from the ATR, to any
position that has none. It is a seat belt, not a strategy.
3. Automatic lot size
Type the risk, not the volume. The lot is derived from the money you are
willing to lose and the distance to your stop, using the tick value your
broker actually reports - not a pip value guessed from the symbol name.
The stop distance comes from an ATR multiple, a fixed number of points, or a
line you drag on the chart, and the lot follows the line as you move it.
Buy, Sell and Close All sit on the chart panel.
4. It refuses the trade you should not take
Because the calendar is built in, the entry tool can decline a new position
when a release is due within a chosen number of minutes, and it tells you
which one. This is the part a news filter that depends on an internet
connection cannot do reliably.
5. Daily loss limit
An optional equity guard closes the positions under management once the
day's loss reaches your limit, and can stay disabled until the next day.
6. On-chart panel
Current state, the risk in account currency, the stop distance in points,
the resulting lot size, how many positions are managed, whether entries are
allowed, and a countdown to the next events that concern this symbol.
WORKS ON ANY SYMBOL
Events are matched to the currencies of the chart symbol, not to a symbol name,
so USD releases apply to EURUSD, XAUUSD and US500 alike, whatever suffix your
broker uses. Nothing is hard-coded to one instrument.
EVENTS COVERED
Fed, ECB, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, RBA, RBNZ, Bank of Canada rate
decisions; US, UK and Swiss CPI; Non-Farm Payrolls; US retail sales; initial
jobless claims; EIA crude oil inventories; US long-bond auctions.
When the built-in dates eventually run out, the guard extends itself from the
terminal's own Economic Calendar. You can also point it at your own schedule
file at any time.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
- It does not predict direction and it does not generate signals.
- It does not open trades by itself. The only orders it sends are the ones you
press on the panel, plus the protective changes you configured.
- It publishes no performance figures, because a risk tool does not have any.
TRY IT FIRST
Turn on "Open sample positions in the Strategy Tester" and run any symbol. The
tester will place sample positions ahead of each release so you can watch the
window open, the protection apply and the stops go back. The switch is off by
default and it has no effect outside the tester.
REQUIREMENTS
MetaTrader 5, hedging or netting account, any broker, any symbol, any
timeframe. No internet permission and no external library.
