Grid Reverse — Daily Range Breakout Grid EA
Grid Reverse is a trading robot that determines entry direction from a daily range breakout (yesterday's close breaking outside the range of the day before), then manages the position through ATR-based grid averaging. Direction can be detected automatically or set manually.
Key features:
- Daily breakout direction detection — enters on a breakout of the previous day's range, with an "inside day" filter (skips consolidation days) and an optional Liquidity Sweep reversal mode (reacts to a false breakout of the previous day's high/low).
- Selectable trend mode — automatic detection, or force Buy / force Sell manually (useful for testing a specific scenario or discretionary control).
- ATR-based averaging — the distance between grid orders adapts to current volatility instead of a fixed pip distance.
- Flexible risk controls:
- maximum number of orders per basket;
- maximum basket loss with an automatic same-day trading halt;
- daily limit on profitable basket closes;
- maximum spread filter;
- free margin check before every order.
- Trading window — trades only within configured hours (server time), with an option to close the basket at breakeven when the window ends.
- Reliability — a unique Magic Number keeps the EA's own positions separate from any other trades on the account; basket state is restored automatically after a terminal restart or EA reattach.
- Fully configurable inputs to adapt to any symbol and broker.
Recommendations:
- Use a broker whose daily (D1) chart shows exactly 5 candles per week (Mon–Fri). On some brokers, due to the server's time zone, an extra small "stub" Sunday candle appears (6 candles per week) — this shifts the daily bar indexing and can distort the breakout direction detection.
- Test on your own broker and symbol before going live — daily candle formation and spreads vary between brokers.
- A VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.
- Tune the first-order risk, lot multiplier, and grid step limit to match your account size.
Risk warning: Grid Reverse uses position averaging (grid logic) without a stop loss on individual trades — risk is only capped by closing the entire basket once the loss limit is reached. This approach can lead to extended drawdowns during strong one-directional moves against the position. Trade with volumes matching your risk tolerance, and never risk funds you cannot afford to lose.
