Session Overlay
Stop guessing where sessions begin and end.
Most session indicators mark zones by fixed clock hours. The result? Boxes that start 30 minutes late, end at the wrong candle, and never quite align with where price actually reacted.
Session Overlay is built differently. Every session boundary is calculated from the D1 bar open — not a hardcoded offset — so the shading, the overlap zones, and the high/low lines all share the exact same time reference. What you see is what the market actually did, session by session.
What's Included
Session Highlights
- Tokyo, London, and NY session shading — fully customizable colors
- Overlap zones automatically blended (Tokyo-London, London-NY, and triple overlap)
- All highlights displayed across the main chart and every sub-window simultaneously
- Zero flicker — session rectangles rendered on a separate timer, independent of price updates
Key Levels
- Session high/low lines for Tokyo, London, and NY — boundaries match the shading exactly, no offset
- Previous day high/low — configurable number of days of history
- Previous week high/low — configurable number of weeks of history
- Recent high/low lines — period-limited segments based on a user-defined bar lookback
Live Display
- Return % label — live, color-coded, vs. prior day close
- All levels can be toggled on or off independently
How to Use
Attach Session Overlay to your main chart. Session shading immediately appears across the main chart and all sub-windows. Configure which levels you want to display using the input parameters — each group (session high/lows, previous day, previous week, recent high/low) can be enabled or disabled independently.
All high/low levels are displayed on the main chart symbol only. Session shading covers all windows.
Works Seamlessly with Multi Subwindow Charts
Session Overlay is designed to be used alongside Multi Subwindow Charts (available separately). When both are active, the session shading from Session Overlay automatically extends across every sub-window, giving you a fully unified session view across all the markets you are monitoring — on a single chart, with a single scroll.
Notes
- Compatible with any symbol and any timeframe
- Session times are based on your broker's server time — adjust the start and end hours in the input parameters to match your broker's timezone if needed
- This indicator does not generate buy or sell signals. It is a market analysis tool designed to help you read session structure clearly and consistently.
