Ichimoku Trend Rider is a fully automated MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor built around the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo trend-following system. It looks for a Tenkan-sen / Kijun-sen crossover and only takes the trade when price is also trading on the correct side of the Ichimoku Cloud (Senkou Span A/B), which keeps entries aligned with the dominant trend and filters out a large share of the false signals a simple moving-average cross would take.
The EA manages risk with ATR-based Stop Loss and Take Profit levels, an ATR-based trailing stop with a minimum-stop-distance safety check, a spread filter, a margin safety check before every trade, and a one-trade-at-a-time rule so exposure never compounds. All entry signals are evaluated once per closed bar, not on every tick, for stable and predictable behavior.

Input Parameters
- Magic Number - unique identifier for trades opened by this EA
- Timeframe - timeframe used to calculate the Ichimoku signal (default H1)
- Max Spread (points) - trading is skipped when the current spread exceeds this value
- Tenkan-sen Period - conversion line period (default 9)
- Kijun-sen Period - base line period (default 26)
- Senkou Span B Period - leading span B period (default 52)
- ATR Period - period used for the ATR-based risk calculations (default 14)
- Stop Loss (ATR multiple) - stop loss distance as a multiple of ATR (default 1.5)
- Take Profit (ATR multiple) - take profit distance as a multiple of ATR (default 2.5)
- Lot Size - fixed lot size used for new trades
- Use Trailing Stop - enable or disable the ATR-based trailing stop
- Trail Start (ATR multiple) - profit required, in ATR multiples, before trailing begins
- Trail Step (ATR multiple) - trailing distance, in ATR multiples
Recommendations
Always test any Expert Advisor on a demo account first, using the Strategy Tester with real tick data, before running it on a live account. Start with the default settings on a major Forex pair or Gold on the H1 timeframe, and adjust the ATR multiples to match the volatility of the symbol you trade.
