Based on our recent research, we do not recommend using XAUUSD (GOLD) in highly volatile instruments such as cryptocurrencies and indices , as spread changes occur very frequently and it is more susceptible to significant slippage.

Yes, backtest results may sometimes show such instruments promising high profits . However, realistic spread changes and slippage effects are often not fully reflected in backtesting environments. This can lead to significant discrepancies between actual market conditions and test results, misleading investors.

Our primary goal is to provide accurate, transparent, and realistic information .

Therefore, we believe that clearly sharing the market conditions and instruments under which the product performs best is far more important for building long-term trust.

Following the latest update, we recommend using the EA only on the USDJPY pair and the H1 timeframe .

This decision was made after detailed analysis of spread behavior and slippage effects, based on tests conducted under real market conditions. The current structure exhibits more stable and predictable performance for this instrument and time frame.

I’m really happy to hear that you enjoy version 3.10 and plan to keep using it. It’s also wonderful that you’re getting strong results on XAUUSD and USDJPY — especially that the trailing feature is working smoothly and that the risk-to-realized reward ratio meets your expectations. That means a lot to me.

In version 4.00, there will be an important improvement: a third strategy will be added, and the EA is being designed to run on the H1 (1-hour) timeframe. In particular, the default settings for USDJPY will be provided for H1.

The main reason we are adding the third strategy is this: we currently have three different set/parameter approaches for USDJPY, and instead of testing them separately, we want to give you the ability to test them together within a single EA and within the same backtest process. This way, you’ll be able to see much more clearly which set performs best under different market conditions.

The strategies will also differ in trading frequency:

• The first two strategies will be more “active,” averaging about 5–7 trades per week per strategy.

• The third strategy will be more “selective,” averaging around 3–4 trades per week.

USDJPY is a pair I’ve followed closely for many years, and it often shows repeating, similar price behaviors. We built the strategy to extract the maximum benefit from these recurring patterns. Of course, like any market, USDJPY can sometimes behave in unusual ways. During those periods, our goal is to get through them without forcing trades and with the lowest possible damage.

This is especially visible in long-term testing: over roughly 20 years of USDJPY backtesting, there are certain periods where losses can occur consecutively. However, because the stop-loss levels are kept at reasonable levels, a relatively short profitable period can often compensate for a longer losing period.

Also, I’d like to share that some features planned for future versions are already technically included inside the EA, but they are currently kept disabled to avoid confusion for users. One example is the profit lock feature. Once it’s enabled, the question becomes “Where and how should profit be locked for the most optimal results?” — and that requires a separate optimization and testing process. We prefer not to enable it until it’s stable and proven reliable.
