The EA has now the option to use the Forex Factory economical calendar in the news filter!
Don't forget to allow the webrequest of this URL: "https://nfs.faireconomy.media/ff_calendar_thisweek.xml" which you can find in the MT5 menu: 'Tools/Options/Expert Advisors.
Hi Daniel, The signal Range Breakout Day Trader Medium Risk uses the MT5 version of the EA with the latest set-files which are published in the comments section of the MT5 version. There have been some manual interventions, but not much. That's why it is currently at 91% auto trading. I'm planning to open a chat group where I will share when I will manualy intervene in the trade and why. Someone else also suggested me to start a chat group.

I have the MT4 version of the EA but it's not taken any trades in over a week. Also, I'm not able to add the EA to the charts.

Hi Daniel, did you check what is your current spread for the USDJPY? It can be that the spread filter is set to low for the spread of your broker.

The URL has been added to the options. The error only occurs when I test Indices such as .DE40Cash and .US30Cash. USDJPY tests okay and I see the news on the chart as well
it might have to do with how the indexes are named because I dont see the same issue on TopFX Global which uses more conventional naming

Hi Mabhiza, You can check the XML file with the news data which you can find by going to File>Open data folder in MT4. Then go to the MQL4\Files folder. If the FFnews.xml file is 4kb, it means the forex factory website has blocked your webrequest, because there were to many webrequests in an hour. After 5 minutes your allowed again to make a webrequest. So try waiting for 5 minutes and then remove the EA from the chart and put it back on the chart again. The xml should contain the news data now and show it on the panel in the chart. Also check if the market is open. If the market is closed, then it will also not show anything on the panel.

Can you not make it such that News is not compulsory for back testing. I run 100's of back test on different symbols to get the settings I want and I don't want to test news at all. Otherwise the EA is unusable if I cant back test it to my way.

Well, in back testing the EA does not use the news filter, because in MT4 it is not possible to use the news filter only in the MT5 version.
I did a back test on US30 and XAUUSD with my Roboforex account and it worked. I will send you the results via private message.
Here are the latest updated set-files for XAUUSD.
Take note that this is for a 2 digit version of XAUUSD. If your broker uses 3 digits, then add a 0 to the number of points in the settings which use points as input.
Hi mate, I just installed the EA and would like to give you some recommendations since I use the same strategy manually, and perhaps there's something I can tell you that could improve the system. Do you plan to set up a chat room so I can chat with other clients and exchange settings?
