Gold excavator

GOLD EXCAVATOR is an EA that trades Gold on the 1H timeframe. The robot uses the DCA strategy. DCA orders are not opened by the pipstep coefficient like other EAs, but they only open orders when the strategy's conditions are met and are specially optimized for the XAUUSD pair. This makes your account more secure and keeps DD low.

THE REQUEST

Pair: XAUUSD.
Minimum deposit $500
Time frame: H1. Use VPS with low latency (<20ms).
Use the EA with an ECN or Raw spread account and enable hedging.
Download history before checking again (Press F2, find currency pair then Download). Backtest with sample: Every tick.

I purchased the Gold Excavator around 4 weeks ago and have run it on 4 IC Markets demo accounts and it has safely doubled the accounts in that time. There was one instance where the drawdown got a bit uncomfortable, but it was only because I was using too large of lot sizes for my account. Plus, I added another trade and it went to profit soon after. This EA trades with the trend and when the conditions are right for a profitable trade. It rarely misses. It works on other currency pairs as well with the right settings and some oversight. I feel confident to use it in a live account now. Tran seems to be a brilliant programmer in my opinion.

The EA opens too few positions during a trend. At the highest or lowest point of the chart it opens another position, which inevitably leads to a drawdown. I hope you can fix it.

I purchased the Gold Excavator around 4 weeks ago and have run it on 4 IC Markets demo accounts and it has safely doubled the accounts in that time. There was one instance where the drawdown got a bit uncomfortable, but it was only because I was using too large of lot sizes for my account. Plus, I added another trade and it went to profit soon after. This EA trades with the trend and when the conditions are right for a profitable trade. It rarely misses. It works on other currency pairs as well with the right settings and some oversight. I feel confident to use it in a live account now. Tran seems to be a brilliant programmer in my opinion.

Update 3 (8 weeks test): Excavator on the recommended settings is dangerous, the best results with default are on 1:2000 cent accounts while ECN 1:500 can only survive with a multiplier 1.2 and the minimum deposit is 1k. DO NOT use this bot with 500$ as stated on the description.

This will be the last entry on the review, we recommend Cent 1:2000 accounts (Exness) with a multiplier 1.5 and 0.01 per each 1kc or ECN 1:500 account / Standard 1:2000 using a multiplier 1.2 with 0.01 per every 500k. I hope this review was check by more new people.

Update 2 (4 Week test): The lack of trend, hour, and functional news filter may kill this bot easily. Is recommended to reduce multipler to 1.3 or 1.5. First losing day on an emergency manual close.

Low Spread account ECN: Good and stable results

Zero Spreads: Heavy losses (Iconicly DON'T USE ZERO SPREAD ACCOUNTS!)

Cent: 4 trades with low drawdown and good profit

Update 1 (2-week test): I think this bot handles gold pretty well, I tested plenty of EAs in the past and this one looks really good after 2 weeks of testing.

After testing this EA for a few days, I like the strategy it employs. The bot is not excessively active or aggressive and instead waits for significant movements of XAU (filtering news if enabled) to enter trades following the trend.

It then attempts to add more martingale trades on the pullback to close with 1-4 trades in profit without engaging in overtrading (Which is my biggest problem with the martingale/grid bots). I hope the developer will continue to add more features to this bot, as there is a lot of potential for it.
