SURFER WAVE RIDER — Multi-Symbol Adaptive Recovery EA for MetaTrader 5
Surfer Wave Rider is an adaptive recovery Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, designed to manage market exposure through structured entries, controlled recovery layers, symbol-aware volatility adaptation and multiple independent protection engines.
SWR is not a blind martingale system. Automatic entries and recovery positions are governed by market direction, minimum price spacing, confirmed closed-candle reversal signals, symbol volatility, account conditions, news protection and configurable safety limits.
The EA was originally designed around XAUUSD and now includes a multi-symbol Auto-Adapt Engine. It automatically identifies the attached symbol category, contract size, digits, tick value, average volatility and suitable recovery distances, allowing safer testing on additional instruments such as major Forex pairs, metals, indices, US30, BTCUSD and other broker-supported CFDs.
MAIN FEATURES
• Multi-Symbol Auto-Adapt Engine
SWR automatically reads the attached symbol’s specifications and adapts key operating distances according to symbol behavior.
The engine identifies:
– Symbol category
– Contract size
– Digits
– Tick size
– Tick value
– Average daily volatility
– Suitable grid and basket target distances
This helps the EA operate more consistently across different broker symbols and asset classes, while still requiring proper demo testing before live use.
• Adaptive First-Entry Protection
Automatic fresh cycles are evaluated using confirmed PSAR/RSI direction, daily Fibonacci positioning and closed-M5 Bollinger/StochRSI reversal conditions.
A recent confirmed bearish extreme reversal can temporarily block a new BUY cycle, while a recent confirmed bullish extreme reversal can temporarily block a new SELL cycle. This helps reduce buying near an exhausted top or selling near an exhausted bottom.
• Structured Recovery Engine
Recovery positions are not added continuously without confirmation.
– Position 2 requires the configured minimum adverse price distance.
– Positions 3 to 5 require minimum distance plus valid confirmation from the recovery logic.
– Position 6 remains reserved for the strictest recovery stage and requires minimum spacing, Rainbow corridor arming and a fresh confirmed PSAR/RSI reversal.
The later recovery stages use additional protection to reduce exposure during strong directional movement.
• Closed-M5 Extreme Reversal Engine
The embedded Bollinger/StochRSI engine evaluates only completed M5 candles.
It confirms market exhaustion when price closes outside a Bollinger Band under an extreme Stochastic RSI condition and then closes back inside the band.
Forming candles are not used to authorize automatic entries. A flat RSI window is treated as neutral to avoid false overbought or oversold signals.
• Rainbow Recovery Corridor
The Rainbow engine evaluates adverse price deviation, moving-average structure and trend strength before arming the final recovery layer.
This provides additional protection when an open basket is exposed to a strong directional market.
• Latest Confirmed Reversal Marker
SWR can display the latest confirmed PSAR/RSI reversal marker on the chart, allowing the user to visually compare EA behavior with confirmed market signals.
• Contract-Aware AutoLot
The AutoLot engine adapts position sizing to account equity and broker contract specifications.
Standard accounts use the embedded USD 2,500 reference profile.
Cent accounts use a separate profile:
– 25,000 USC → 0.01 lot
– 100,000 USC → 0.04 lot
– 200,000 USC → 0.08 lot
Cent sizing remains limited by the EA maximum-lot protection and the broker’s permitted volume settings.
• SWR Daily Loss and Profit Limits
Daily loss and profit calculations are based on SWR’s own trading activity, identified by symbol and Magic Number.
When a daily limit is reached, new trading is locked until the next broker day.
• Account Emergency Drawdown Protection
A separate emergency drawdown limit monitors complete account equity.
This protection is designed to safeguard the account when total equity drawdown reaches the configured emergency threshold. It is independent of SWR’s own daily trading limits.
• Adaptive Range Protection
The range engine compares current daily movement with historical volatility conditions.
It can reduce recovery aggression, restrict fresh cycles or activate a range-risk lock during abnormal expansion.
The feature is enabled by default and can be disabled by the user. When disabled, range restrictions are bypassed and any stored range lock is cleared.
• Automatic News Protection
The built-in economic calendar engine can pause new cycles around important news events.
SWR uses symbol-aware news mapping, so instruments such as Forex pairs, metals, indices, US30 and crypto symbols can be matched with their relevant economic currency exposure where supported by the broker and MT5 calendar.
Existing baskets remain under management according to the configured recovery protections. News-related status is displayed clearly on the panel.
• Broker-Time Trading Schedule
SWR includes:
– Configurable daily trading session
– Friday early pause for new cycles
– Monday late opening
– Continued management of existing baskets outside the fresh-cycle schedule
• Basket Management
The EA manages BUY and SELL baskets independently on hedging accounts.
Basket targets use symbol-aware price-distance conversion to support different digit formats and broker specifications.
On netting accounts, logical recovery depth is reconstructed from trading deals because MetaTrader 5 maintains one net position per symbol.
• Overlap Recovery
On compatible hedging accounts, the overlap engine can pair a profitable recovery position with an older losing position.
Execution includes profitability verification, transaction persistence and restart recovery. Ticket-pair overlap is automatically unavailable on netting accounts.
• Manual Trading Controls
The chart interface includes:

The report can be minimized or expanded from the chart and is dedicated to SWR activity only by filtering account history using the EA’s configured Magic Number.

The EA automatically reads the attached symbol’s digits, volume step, volume limits, contract size and volatility profile. Broker conditions can still produce different execution, spread, commission, swap and test results.
