Economic Event Analysis

  Back ground. I have an app which downloads economic event data from a website called MyFXBook, using a script. But currently this website does not allow any script to be used. So, I have to go back to manually downloading a .csv file that shows the economic events scheduled to occur in the coming week

  Python. This job requires Python. Execution of this job by any other method that does not require Python is not acceptable because I know Python-based solution works well. My knowledge of Python is very basic. But I have found out that I have to install Python in my machine. We need to go to Microsoft Store and download and run “Python Install Manager”. Any other method of Python installation does not work.

  Nomenclature. Weekly events are kept in a file. Nomenclature of this file is, for example, “205.28.09.2026 to 04.10.2026 Calendar.csv”. 205 is the week number. 28.9.2026 is the start date of the week (Monday) and 04.10.2026 is the end date of the week (Sunday).

For this job, previous week is “204.21.09.2026 to 27.09.2026 Calendar.csv” and “205.28.09.2026 to 04.10.2026 Calendar.csv” is the coming week.

  Step 1 We have the file “204 Analysis_Output.xlsx” as the starting point. This file has the data up to 27.09.2026. Please refer to the attached folder “Weekly Schedule”. It contains the following files:

·       run_weekly_schedule.bat

·       weekly_schedule.py

These files are designed to directly extract data from MyFXBook website. But, as stated before, we are longer able to do so. So, I manually download a file “205.28.09.2026 to 04.10.2026 Calendar.csv”.

Step 2. We now have to extract the economic data from “204 Analysis_Output.xlsx”. So, I manually constructed a file “205.Weekly Data.xlsx”. This file is attached.

·       Please note that not all currency pairs in “205.Weekly Data.xlsx” are included in “204 Analysis_Output.xlsx”.

·       In the column header the string “Rank” is not included in the “204 Analysis_Output.xlsx”.

·       Economic events occurring in the same date and time are colour coded the same in two colors

Objective of this project is to construct the file through software instead of doing it manually.
