Backtest

Hi,

 

Please could someone please inform me on how to backtest an EA for more than a year? The two brokers i tried only go back 6 months i don't know how people backtest for longer times.

you have to register for a demo account with metaquotes - brokers, like you said, don't have history for longer periods of time.

in order to do this, you have to open a new account - when you have the chance to pick the server, you search for a new one - access.metatrader5.com:443 ( i can't provide the server i'm using, i'm on a different PC, tho i think i usually enter MetaQuotes-Demo

afterwards, you should be able to download good history data, since 1971.
