Backtesting longer periods.

I want to backtest Period 15 min for a longer period of time for 5 or 6 years. but i cannot backtest it on mt4 for more than 6 months. what can i do with it?

When i select a period of two years for 15 min timeframe backtest,  the backtesting always starts from last 6 months and not two years on mt4

 

And if you run it without setting a period ? 

Did you download the historic data ?

run it without setting a period, Yes i did that now, maximum back test went to 7 months only,   problem with historic data is that MT4 only downloads this 6, 7 months historic data for back test for 15 min time frame,  for 4 hours timeframe it can download 4, 5 years easily. but MT4 is not downloading historic data.

 

Of course you will understand that you can not run a backtest over a historic period, if the history data isn't present.

Did you try to manually download the data ?

Press F2 then select instrument and click download.
