MT5 Build 6230 - Strategy Tester "history check timeout" on all EAs and symbols

Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent Strategy Tester problem in MetaTrader 5.

MT5 version:
MetaTrader 5 Build 6230, 25 September 2026
Windows

The Strategy Tester cannot start any backtest.

The Journal always shows:

XAUUSD: history check started
XAUUSD: history check timeout
XAUUSD: no history data from 2026.10.01 00:00 to 2026.10.09 00:00
no history data, stop testing

The same problem also occurs with EURUSD.

I have already tested the following:

- XAUUSD and EURUSD
- My own EA and the standard MetaTrader ExpertMACD example
- VantageMarkets-Demo and VantageMarkets-Live
- Two separate MT5 installations
- A clean MT5 Portable installation with a separate data folder
- Cleared Strategy Tester cache
- Local Tester Agents are all Ready
- M1 historical bars can be requested successfully from Symbols -> Bars
- Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot
- Restarted Windows

All tests produce the same "history check timeout".

The problem also occurs with the standard ExpertMACD EA, so it happens before my custom EA is executed.

An important detail:
Historical M1 bars can be downloaded/requested successfully in Symbols -> Bars, but Strategy Tester still cannot synchronize/check the history.

Could you please advise what may cause this and how I can fix it?

Is there a known Strategy Tester/history synchronization issue with Build 6230?

Thank you.

Hello,

in the past i would start from a new portable mt5 folder after almost every update of mt4/5. but i see that you have done this already.

In this case i would have serious doubts about my internet connection, especially if you are using wifi or mobile hotspot. These are fast, but notoriously unreliable. If you have to use wifi, then i recommend that you put a relay box half way between your modem/phone and your trading system. If it is hotspot, then, only way to improve that is to get a 2nd provider that uses a different tower/dish than the current provider, and use a vpn to combine them both into a single connection. and this way they will also act as a backup service for each other, when 1 of them fails even for a second.

you might also try to recompile your files. sometimes an update of mt4/5 can break old codes, and in past it happened after every 2nd update!

beyond that? without seeing your code, any suggestions regarding codes -- would be just guesses unless you posted your code for us to look at.
