MQL5 builtin economic calendar shows some events as N/D

why MQL5 builtin economic calendar shows some events as N/D

N/D is "not defined", "no data" or "not determined".

I think - it is similar to N/A (not available).

Economic Calendar: delayed, incomplete and wrong!

QuickPip, 2020.01.28 15:36

Dear MetaQuotes,

can you please do something about your economic calendar — just have a look and you'll quickly see what's the issue yourself (and it's just one example for many more):

Investing vs. Tradays

Data published on time by other calendars like Investing.com appear as "N/D" in yours. And maybe even worse (because more often): your forecast values differ from the market expectation (please just compare with Investing and virtually every other economic calendar out there), frequently leading to reversed (wrong) impact directions → MetaQuotes effectively places their end customers against the market, even during high impact events!!! What's more, ENUM_CALENDAR_EVENT_IMPACT  holds wrong and incomplete data, too.

It's such a pity: on the one hand you deliver world class trading software, and on the other hand you partially mess it up again.

I'm sure now that you are aware of the issue it will be relatively easy and quick for you to fix, given that you have already implemented much more complex features.

But CORRECT economic data (incl. forecasts in line with the market concensus) are simply essential to us traders. FULL STOP, no discussions about that please. It's obvious.

Many thanks in advance!

CORRECT economic data (incl. forecasts in line with the market concensus

Forecast data can not be corrected to the "market concensus". Because "market concensus" does not exist in most of the cases, and it is the forecasting which is related to the calendar. Of course, there are some well-known forecast for some very high impacted news events (for NFP for example), and it may be some concensus for those events. But, mostly, it is the calendar which is estimating the forecasts.

Why? Because the value of forecast is related to where the price will go immediate after news event (actual number is below or above forecasting value) - compate with the actual data for example - it is about how the traders predict about where to place pending order(s) to be immediately after news events for example.

Some calendars are spying for the other calendars for forecasting data (and it is not good) ... why? because some "other calendars" are having the analytical team which is estimating those forecasting data.

So, it is not good idea to copy those data from one calendar to an other one (this MQL5 calendar is having forecasting data/values which are not same with the other calendars, and it is very good).

As to N/D ... I think - N/D is the following: it is difficult or impossible to get some data in automatic way ...

Thank you for posting that info which is consistent with what you posted 6 years ago. To be clear, I pocketed the link in Post #2 as a thread Topic wherein you posted─not as a citation to that OP's claim. "N/D" was pocketed merely for the purpose of relevance to this present thread.
