Will MT5 work on Imac?

I know that on MQL5 site there's a download for mac products but I read mixed opinions and points that Apple stops supporting 32 bit which is supposed to affect it too. So I wanted to ask experts and practical users, is it simple as downloading the app to use MT5 on Imac without going through hoops and having to use bypasses? Thank you very much in advance for help!

With all due respect to both MetaQuotes and Apple - MetaTrader on Mac is a hassle at the moment.

Get Windows (Parallels Desktop on Mac) and focus on your strategy not logistics. In case you are keen to use plain macOS - here is a thread where users manage successfully MT5/Mac

Also the mt5 inside open data folder can not use the copy and paste function. To access it, follow these steps option, then click on it. I can not copy any file to the expert folder on macbook air m1 when i opened

I'm not a MacOS user and don't know much about it, but here's a post from a MetaQuotes employee a few hours ago that might be somewhat relevant to your question (I hope):

  • Metaquotes creates an installer that installs MetaTrader with all the necessary components on MacOS, and the terminal works good.
  • Wine 10.3 - Wine 11.0 have known launch issues that are caused by Wine itself.
  • Crossover 26 uses wine 11.0, you can draw your own conclusions.
  • If you absolutely need to install Metatrader yourself, please use Wine 11.1-11.2, win11 bottle, and WebView2 144+. Also, use WebInstaller for installation; it will download all the necessary fonts.

Thank you for your advice and a link. This is exactly the sort of a hassle I'd like to avoid. It's such a pity though, these neverending compatibility problems with macs which in many other regards are superior machines..
