I did this, many traders did this, but after a while, it update automatically back to the new build.
However, I have found a work around.
When first launching the older version, a live update folder will appear in the roaming data file, so I set all the files inside to "read only" and I have pinned the exe of the old version to my windows bar, it know does NOT update anymore, so it's a pesky work around but nonetheless functional, good enough for me :D
MQL, you gotta do something about this all my trader friends are impacted I spent the day doing IT support to teach them how to bypass the update, I love MT but this is very clumsy I must admit.
I do not have much information for Mac sorry ... I found one post about it (auto-translated to the Enflish) - post #124 - "Try removing the entire package from your computer, downloading an updated version with the new Wine , and installing it again".
Anyway, I think it will be going to be fixed as well.
The problem was solved by replacing the files.
Nothing slows down!

The way, to fix that issue on a MAC ist the same as in any other installation
You have to just replace the three binarys. The Problem is, the autoupdate process bring the new binary back in a short time. so you to overwrite them after every restart.... or found a better solution
Very strange.
I have no issues with the February 1st version.
But the same thing happens to another user - it slows down a lot.
I think it's also a system configuration issue. Processor, Memory, Video Card, Windows...

For Mac or Linux, it's the SAME as for Windows. You need to download the exe files and find on your Mac/Linux system where the original exe files are stored and replace them.
