MT5 Totally Screwed after recent Update

Alain Verleyen, 2026.02.04 13:50

You must use the previous version 5430 or the latest beta 5574, in which all these errors are corrected.
Or wait for the official launch, which should be done shortly.

For the latest beta, go to the Help menu -> Check for Updates.

If you are still having problems with 5574, publish the technical details about it (source code if possible, records, screenshot...).

I’ve noticed similar issues after some MT5 updates as well. Sometimes the platform doesn’t crash completely, it just becomes unresponsive in the background, which is even worse because you may not notice it immediately.
One thing that helped me was having some kind of external monitoring instead of relying only on logs. For example, checking if ticks are still coming or if the terminal responds, and taking action if it doesn’t.
Not really fixing the root cause, but at least it avoids having MT5 stuck for hours.
How are you guys dealing with this when running unattended?

every "once in awhile" i check that i am still using a stable version of mt5. i check often because in past there has been many times when mt5 was forced to update to a beta version, which has much higher chance of being buggy. Only February, this happened to many on the forum.

Please give technical details :

1. Provide the Journal log file (attach the whole file, not an excerpt).

2. Clarify "unresponsive in the background" : what that means exactly
