Trailing stop loss, not working

MT5. Oanda demo account.

When I use a regular stop, it shows up in the Trade panel and when hit the stop works as it should.

When I open a trade, and then in in the trade panel set a trailing stop things go wrong.
Stop doesn't show in the trade panel.
When the stop is hit nothing happens. Not talking about slippage but after being hundreds of points past the stop for many hours, even day, the trade is still open. (the market was also open)
Tried on EURUSD, gold and silver so it's not a liquidity issue either.
Tried with MT5 preset stops of 0, 5, 45 and custom of 180 points. Makes no difference.

How to fix this?

Check whether your trade panel uses virtual/hidden trailing stop loss, ask the author/seller, read the manual.

I contacted the 'seller' MetaQutes.
Nowhere I wrote I used an EA. I wrote "I entered"  that's 100% manual.

If when you say 'trade panel' you mean chart, then we got the wrong message/meaning.

Please post a screenshot of what you mean.

When users refer to a "Trade Panel", it usually refers to a trading utility EA, that displays a "panel" for trading. This is the reason why @Eleni Anna Branou asked you to contact the product "seller".

To be clear, the standard MetaTrader order dialogue box does not have a "trailing stop" function or fields. The "trailing stop" is applied from the context menu for a trade in the "Trade" tab in the toolbox (not called a trading panel).

EDIT: By the way, this is a user forum, even most of the moderators. We the users, do not represent MetaQuotes and our answers are based on our own experience and understanding.

BinnedWhen I open a trade, and then in in the trade panel set a trailing stop things go wrong. Stop doesn't show in the trade panel.

A standard MetaTrader trailing-stop only starts to take affect after it has gone sufficiently in profit by that amount of points. In other words, the trailing stop is only activated (updates broker-side stop-loss) when the trailing stop has cleared the break-even point.

So you will still need to apply a standard stop-loss to the position, irrespective of a trailing stop being applied or not.
