Quick Set Settings Idea – Not Sure If This Would Pass MT5 Validation

I have built a function for my bots, basically when you optimize and then backtest one good setting,  it prints the settings like this   100,t,f,234,t,f,0.1,4,6,7............ etc

Then on the ea i have an overide box, if you insert this code >>> "100,t,f,234,t,f,0.1,4,6,7............ etc"  it overides all settings.

kind of like a fast way to send set files back and forth,  but can be done super fast.

will this empty box trip anything on submission ? if its pre-populated is that against any rules etc?

i know you cant lock an ea I submit to gold for example. so is this in the same realm ?

After checking the Market rules, at least in my interpretation (please correct me if I'm wrong), I don't see that it violates any of them.

  • It doesn't use DLLs or WebRequest.
  • It doesn't restrict functionality or depend on account/server data.
  • It doesn't collect personal information.
  • It doesn't link to external services or resources.

It's simply a faster and more convenient way to load and share settings.

That’s what I see ? It’s a super fast way to deal with “what settings you using?”  How do load a set file !! Etc

Right, just make good use of it. As long as it is not used as a filter or limiting factor, there should not be any problem. In any case, it is not really a new idea since most of us have done something similar before. 😉👍
