VPS only working when laptop is on, completely defeats the point

My VPS is only working when my computer is on, I linked it correctly and it says it is working correctly but trades are not placed or closed when my laptop is off.

Apart from changing providers, does anyone have any idea what may be going on and how I sort this please?

Did you synchronise/migrate the environment onto the VPS as per the instructions?

Yes I have, I found the installation process very easy which is why I’m frustrated it’s not working properly

I checked MQL5 VPS for myself (yes, I am using MQL5 VPS as well - from time to time): I migrated the charts with EAs attached, after that - I checked the migration - to be sure that everything is fine.
And it works properly.

If MQL5 VPS does not work for you so it may be for the following reasons:

  • you did not migrate your charts with EAs attached - with the confirmation that everything was migrated;
  • you are trading by yourself on same trading account with VPS on your home computer with autotrading to be ON (on your home computer);
  • your EAs are having the bugs.

So, there are 3 reasons only about why you/we may have the errors with it.

Ah ok, so if I manually trade the account that has the EA on it, that will stop the VPS from working? That could be it.....

May be ...

But I know that MQL5 VPS is Metatrader (your other Metatrader but in cloud).
So, it means that you have two Metatrader instances: one is on your home computer, and the other one is on your MQL5 VPS.
And autotrading is always ON in this MQL5 VPS (in this "Metatrader in cloud").
