I do not know of the reason why the URL is being blocked, but it is very suspicious that your broker is telling you to download MetaTrader from the MetaQuotes site and not their own.
This is because, reputable brokers offer links on their own website for downloading their own personalised version of the MetaTrader application.
So, I recommend you investigate your broker and make sure it is regulated and reputable.
Please read the following:
I removed your previous post because — Broker discussions, recommendations or suggestions are not allowed on the forum.
However, I recommend you discuss the issue with the broker, so that they provide an internal link. They should also provide you with their personalised webterminal URL too.
Also, just to make sure the link that was provided to you is correct, go to the following MetaTrader 5 download page ...

Broker personalised versions are up to the broker to provide, not MetaQuotes. However, you failed to confirm if you were able to download from the link I provided.
If you were successful, then that means you are not blocked, and that the link provided by the broker was flawed.
That is the main or "generic" way to download MT5, it doesn't seem the right way to download customized versions of MT5 made by brokers. Those versions should be distribuited through the CDN (I'm guessing)
1. brokers are paid to give you support. They are your first "point of contact". punn intended.
2.if you had searched this forum before making your post, then, you would have read several threads where new users were instructed to always install mt from the broker -- AND TO NEVER use the installer from this website, for various reasons also described in many threads.
As Fernando has already alluded to -- IF -- your broker gave your download line that refers to download.mql.com, then, i doubt that they are reputable. ALL brokers that i am associated with have their own link with their broker name in the url.

No, Fernado, that is completely not so. We even recommend brokers to provide download links from MetaQuotes CDN to ensure they use up to date installers. They all have such links for their personalized apps.
Since all the brokers I have used, offer their own links, I was unaware of such a policy.
Thank you for the update!

In an ideal world this is true, but some brokers won't lift one of their _Digits to help a customer.

Thanks for that. It explains why my MT5 Futures specific-platform rarely updates--that platform is broker-modified to connect to the exchange. In contrast, my MT5 off-exchange FX platform updates are not far behind the MQ Beta platform updates.

Hi everybody
I recently opened an account in a broker in Europe ([redacted]). They sent me a link to download their custom MT5. (Something like https://download.mql5.com/cdn/web/...)
But the link does not work. I always receive an error from the browser indicating the page is not reachable.
After a little investigation I discovered that several countries in America do not have access to the page.
I used an online tool to make pings from several countries.
download.mql5.com fails to connect from several countries in America only
https://tools.bunny.net/latency-test?query=download.mql5.com
But page www.mql5.com works perfectly
https://tools.bunny.net/latency-test?query=www.mql5.com
Do you know why are these countries being blocked from accessing the download page?
Do you know any way to circunvent this issue? (without installing a VPN, maybe there is an alternative/backup page for cases where the main server is down/inaccessible)
Regards
