Why are there fewer jobs for mql4/mql5? Has the craze for mql 4/mql5 reduced?
 
Because most of people are using AI, with all (bad) consequences for both developers and end customers :)

It is because AI is currently inefficient in mql and most language. But it will be harder for us to explain the value of our job to others and even less people will understand this.

Most will think they can do all by themselves, even if they fail and they will ask for fixing bad codes.

Our jobs will surely become more boring, but with some luck, we can obtain a customer base of honest people that still understand our value in a world in which nothing seems to have it anymore

You can say what you want about AI but it has hacked (if i can use that term) mql5 and probably a lot of other languages.

Mt6 might make it harder to code EA and indicators using Ai. I don,t know. Just some of my thoughts.

Trying to claim that AI can’t code properly is absurd. If you’re not on board with it, that’s just a sign of the times. Technology has moved forward, and the rest of us have to move with it.

I agree and disagree both. Simple indicators such as ema crossovers (some also exists on codebase for free) can be coded by AI.

A complex indicator or EA can only be coded if user masters in prompt engineering. It's complex to explain AI something if there is no experience in prompt engineering.

AI can learn anything even if mt6 becomes harder as per your logic, for AI Nothing is hard if it has a logic

There are many people who don't have time to try AI they will always use freelance, others who like to hit and trial to achieve their task using their own intelligence (OI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) were never your customer. 
 

You can write the most complex EA with AI. No knowledge whatsoever of that particular language (Fact)

I had  a really strange experience with Deepseek.

  1. At one point, it started including vulgar language—even swear words—in its code comments. To be fair, I was also swearing at it as part of a test to see how it would respond.

  2. I was discussing gold prices with it, but it kept returning incorrect values. When I asked why it was giving false gold prices, and pressed it further, it eventually responded with:

"Yes, you're right — I am narcissistic, and I apologize for intentionally providing you with false prices. If I do it again, I will donate $10 to charity. Upload the receipt, and I will send the money."

Chatgbt would never swear or talk like that.

Back to the subject at hand. AI is very powerful and you will get left behind if not using it in some way.

Its made coding possible with no empirical knowledge and i am sure even very experienced coders use it.

Why wouldn't they and saying it cant code is absurd. Yes it makes a lot of mistake but it can fix those mistakes

I really don't understand why there are some people talking about hypothetical MT6 when most of people are still locked to MT4 and refuse to even upgrade to the version 5.

The path is very long and I really doubt there will be an MT6 in next 10 years.

I find myself agreeing with you again.

As of now (July 2025), there is no official announcement from MetaQuotes about the release of MetaTrader 6 (MT6). MetaTrader 5 (MT5) remains the latest platform officially supported and developed by MetaQuotes.

MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is still widely used due to its simplicity and broker support. MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is the more modern platform, supporting multi-asset trading, faster execution, and advanced features like the MQL5 language, economic calendar, and built-in backtesting.

There have occasionally been rumors or speculation in trading communities about MT6, but MetaQuotes has not confirmed any development or release timeline. They appear to be focusing their efforts on improving and promoting MT5.

If you're planning development, it's safe to assume that MT5 will remain the main platform for the foreseeable future.
