MT4 Event Sounds not working anymore ... since today

Hey all 

I have a very strange behaviour in MT4. 

Since toay all event sounds are not working anymore. Yesterday everything was still fine. 

Of course I checked my computer's audio settings - all fine, can listen to music, volume is up etc. 

Of course I enabled all event sounds under Options -> Events

When setting an alert on the chart and select modify, I should be able to hear the selected event sound when hitting "Test" 

but no matter what sound I elect, I hear nothing. Same when the alert is hit by the price - no sound. 

As said, yesterday everything was working fine still. Didn't run any MT4 update either since then. 

Any ideas highly appreciated.

I did that  of course but there seem to be no technical or configuration issue . All that was suggested I had already checked and as said, yesterday it was still working fine and I didn't mess with anny audio settings on my computer. Anyway, thanks for taking your time.

Thank you for your comment, I'm using MT4 and I already had checked the audio config under windows. All fine but still wasn't working ... yesterday. 

Strangely today it is working again but I don't have any clue as to why. I didn't restart MT4 yesterday, when having the issue, which I did today. 

Maybe this fixed it, as a restart often fixxes issues under windows. 

Still, never ever had this problem before and I've been using MT4 for over a decade.

winblows probably did an update that "tripped" a setting to off. When you did a restart, the defautl setting changed back to on, maybe.

yes, that seems to be the only plausible explanation
