MT4 TERMINAL FROZEN

Hello, please assist. my mt4 terminal does not respond, it does not show charts but only displays" WAITING FOR UPDATES". IT does not respond to commands. it is frozen. When the network is off the terminal knobs  respond but with no chart display and no symbol data.

  • First make sure that the network connection is working correctly, by checking the icon in the bottom-right, to make sure the trade server is properly connected and that the data is flowing.
  • Also check the Journal log to make sure there are no connection problems or other error messages.
  • If all the above is working, then close all your charts, and then open them again by right-clicking the respective symbols in the Market Watch window and choosing the "Chart Window" option.
If this does not resolve the issue, show us the complete Journal log entries.

all the above mentioned is checked.

please note however that  all other terminals from other brokers work perfectly.

  • When wifi is on the terminal just remain frozen you can't click anything on it.
  • when wifi is off that's when i can interact with it.
  • All these is with no charts displayed  and no data on market watch.

then, why did you not ask the broker before you posted a question here? Is it not obvious that you need to contact your broker?

It's been a long time since someone reported “Waiting for update” On MT4. (2020)

  1. According to IBFX, open market watch (Control+M) drag the symbol to the chart. Init() probably would fire.

  3. Try closing the terminal and delete «DataFolder»\..\config\terminal.ini You'll lose the placement of any open charts.
