RE: MT5 Open Error After Update: Version 5.00 build 4755 - 13 Dec 2024

Hi all, I have the same problem, error message: The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic library C:\Program Files\Metatrader5\terminal64.exe

I did a windows restore to before the MT5 update was installed and MT5 worked but I accidentally clicked the MT5 update again and now its not working again and I cannot use the restore option again.

This is what I tried

  • Uninstalled MT5
  • ran CCleaner which deletes cookies, temp files
  • removed all MT5 folders
  • removed all MT5 registery files
  • Repaired visual c++ redistributable packages for visual studio 2013
  • Added exceptions to Bitdefender
Still does not work and still has same error BUT MT5 works in windows safe mode with networking active. So maybe somebody with more IT knowledge can solve this one.

Please search before you post. I have moved your question to the related topic.

Read the topic, but in essence, to solve the problem add an exception to your "bitdefender" (or other anti-virus/firewall) to allow MetaTrader to function normally.

Same issue, I thought it was the MT5 update or the OS update, Windows 11, version 24H2.

Added an exception to "Advanced threat defence" in bitdefender. Solved

Hi!,

SOLUTUION : ADD "terminal64.exe  to your Antivirus Firewall's Advanced Threat Defense exception. It works to me.

Thank you very much. I am also using bitdefender total security and had the same problem with metatrader 5 since last live update. Now it is fixed by putting an exception on the "Advanced threat defence".

Hi Fernando,

Thank you for your feedback much appreciated, problem solved, I will just add for those who made the same mistake I made. There are 2 places to add exceptions to in Bitdefender:

Under the tab Protection you have Antivirus and Advanced Threat Defense it only works if you add the exception to the Advanced Threat Defense. C:\Program Files\Metatrader5\terminal64.exe
