From theory to practice - page 377

Renat Akhtyamov:

Collect statistics on the number of numbers generated by the computer's GCF. Every time you will have the same result with a large enough number of generations.

So use a quoter

He won't hear you. Gone to the future.

Nikolay Demko:

And in reality (in red, a normal distribution):

Yuriy Asaulenko:

He will not hear you. Gone to the future.

Yuri, how are you? You're not quite out of your mind yet, messing around with your farming friends, are you? Please, go back to your home turf, to the distributions. Physics, Landau and Lifshitz. Stop fooling around with Vanka. People are watching.

Olga Shelemey:
Yuri, how are you? You're not quite out of your mind yet, messing around with your collective-farm friends? Please, go back to your home town, to the distribution. To physics, to Landau and Lifshitz. Stop fooling around with Vanka. People are watching.

Give the cat back to its owner.

Yuriy Asaulenko:

Give the cat back to its owner.

:))) Yuri, once again support the collective farmers, I will consider you the same.

Alexander_K2:

:))) Yuri, if you support the collective farmers again, I'll consider you the same.

Comrade scientists, don't hesitate, darlings:

If something goes wrong with you - well, wrong affect -

We'll come to you with shovels and pitchforks,

We'll think about it for a day - and we'll fix the defect! (с)

And yet.

Gentlemen!

I'm begging for your help. Well, I've lost my mind in my old age.

Young people! Kids! Kids!

Erlang's 5th order distribution

Generator:

Distribution:

Statistics:

Pascal distribution (negative binomial) at r=5, p=0.5, q=0.5

Generator:

Distribution:

Statistics:

In Erlang's MF generator I cheated - I added 0.5 to the generator output and converted it to Integer format

In the Pascal generator everything is done strictly - it is the sum of geometrically distributed discrete MFs.

Is the Pascal distribution a discrete analogue of the Erlang distribution???

If not, is it fair to add the constant 0.5 to the output of the RNG of Erlang and convert the obtained number to the Integer format in order to pass to the discrete distribution? After all, the time of receipt of quotations is discrete and we simply must work in this format.

Alexander_K2:

And yet.

Gentlemen!

I'm begging for your help. Well, I've lost my mind in my old age.

It's up to the drowning man to save the drowning man! (с)

There's plenty of time until New Year.

Yuriy Asaulenko:

It is up to the drowning men to save the drowning men! (с)

There's plenty of time before New Year.

I have a feeling you won't get the grail with this approach.

Well, give a man a more loyal hope...

Renat Akhtyamov:

I have a feeling there's no grail to be had with this approach.

Well, do you have more loyalty to a man...

Much to my regret, you are probably right. It's an absolute dead end.

One thought in his head, and he thinks it. There's no way around it, everything is solved head-on, not a step backwards, or sideways.

Sheep

On a steep mountain path

The black sheep walked home

And on a humpbacked bridge

He met his white brother.

And the white lamb said:

"Brother, here's the thing:

"You can't get through here, you can't get through here.

You're in my way."

And the black brother said, "Meh-eh,

Are you out of your mind, sheep?

"May my feet be asleep,

"I'll never get out of your way!"

He shook his horns,

and the other one stuck his feet...

No matter how you twist the horns,

but the two of them can't get through.

The sun is blazing above,

And down below the river flows.

In the river, early in the morning

Two rams drowned. (с)
