One of the reasons why brokers don't like MT5 - page 5

Реter Konow:
It's about popularity, mass distribution. Usability.

Ahhhh.

That's understandable.

Of course MT5 will be used, especially by those who are just arriving.

And they made the right move - they stopped the support of 4-Rock.

My version is purely conspiracy, but why not? It might be easier to draw dubious quotes with MT4. See for yourself. Suppose a dealing company constantly cheats with quotes: it draws a snot, then it whips out stops, while no one has ever had such quotes in the market. The clients start to be indignant and contact the technical support. If brokerage companies trade with MT5, clients may always point out that Just2Trade, an authoritative quote provider for this terminal, didn't offer anything similar. This is not LMAX or Currenex, it is easier to sign a contract with Just2Trade for connection to the liquidity pool. If they have an MT5 terminal, then logically they have to deal with Just2Trade. And if the office only has MT4, then it is like a closed club: they can bullshit anyone, and the client has no logical arguments.

I would only add that in the context of a concrete "struggle" between the two platforms, having initially a weaker position than the world-popular platform, MT5 also had to struggle with its own bugs, which ate up a considerable part of its popularity. However, it must be acknowledged that MT5's position has strengthened enormously in recent years, although the time has not yet come for it to be completely superseded by MT4.

Mt5 is unlikely to take a decent position for the stock market. There is no question about forex, but forex is for kids with small accounts.

I disagree. MT5 is ahead in terms of technology. It is the best platform for algotrading at the moment. As algotrading will gradually displace manual trading, the focus of exchange players will inevitably concentrate on MT5.

Funny post

Guys. Developers. Please listen to me! Write as a specialist in a brokerage house to order the history of quotes for an instrument! Look at my first post in the thread. Renat, please.

Реter Konow:

Nikolai, do you disagree with this point of view?

Speak your mind.

Peter, unfortunately, for some reason I don't take your many words as a point of view, but only a kind of cloudy-foggy demagogy. Very succinctly put by Renat:"mass indifference andirrational laziness." It's hard to add anything here. It is stupid irrational laziness, indifference and inertia that is the real reason why the masses are inhibiting the transition to a new and better platform. In general laziness is a very valuable thing, but normal laziness when a person is ready to move mountains in order to do nothing. It is really stupid laziness. It is like that anecdote about the old Jew who prayed to God and asked him to win the lottery, but didn't buy a lottery ticket.

On mt5 it is convenient to write and test an algorithm, but no more. The legacy of the past is too great for serious money to move to mt5 so easily.

Well, don't be discouraged if I take your many words the same way.

To explain away laziness is to explain away nothing. Unfortunately.

Besides, if laziness is the cause, then MT5 is in a hopeless situation. Laziness is a side of human nature. If a company fights people's laziness rather than using it for its own benefit (laziness can be used very effectively), it will inevitably use up all its resources and lose in this fight.

Human nature cannot be defeated! It can only be understood and used.
