Italy has racked up so much debt that there is a good chance the country will default.

yep

J.C.Trichet decided to rush his colleagues after Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi announced on 5 August 2011 that the Italian government would reduce the budget deficit to zero by 2013 instead of 2014 as previously planned.

Dollar, vivat. I'll take that risk. We shall see. It jumped up too much on Friday to fall even more. Nope. The market will go despite the S&P. And you know why? Not just why. And if the agency did shake out, the market will continue to shake the trees even harder. And they'll say - it's the extraS&P that scared us. Just an excuse. An excuse to sell risk. Sell hard. The time is right - August. All the big shit in the last ten years starts at that time. And even 9/11 around that time. I remember the dollar was around 31 roubles on New Year's Eve. Until August it was hovering around 28-27. Now it might shoot up above 31-32. And you want me, having endured all this optimistic drag, to quit the dollar at the most interesting point? Out of principle, I won't go. Drinking tea. Heh heh heh.
